Pours a pale copper color with a massive, foamy head. Smell is of yeast, apple, sugar, and bread. I let it warm a bit before taking a sip, and was pleasantly surprised by the taste. It was a little hoppier than I had expected, but not in a bad way. I'd have this beer again, for sure.

Orange and clear. No foam. Looks like apple juice (this is going to be a reoccurring theme).

Smells like...Apple juice. Not beer with a scent of apple juice, but "did-someone-replace-this-beer-with-apple-juice?" apple juice.

Tastes like...Apple juice. But only a little. Finishes with lemony bitterness and caramel.

Feels like...Apple juice. Very little noticeable carbonation. Kind of watery.

This beer reminds me of apple juice, obviously. There is some complexity to the taste that makes it a worthwhile beer to try, but probably not one to try twice.

A: Somewhat hazy yellow with a foamy white head that quickly dissipates to absolutely nothing.

S: Funky, earthy belgian yeast, poppy, earthy spices, citrus in the nose.

T: Some poppy, orange dominates, some spices, Belgian yeast.

M: Smooth enough, and medium-full bodied.

O: A really good citric, perhaps unconventional, tripel.

A gold pour, reasonable head, mild aroma (especially for a Belgian-style), as tripels go, there is a very mild flavor. This beer has a pretty high carbonation. There's little aftertaste.

Unfortunately, for an anniversary beer, it's rather forgettable. It's not a bad beer. I'd happily drink it again, but I'm not going to crave it.

A - Bright yellow, with no head or lace. A fair amount of clarity. Nothing special in the appearance

S - Trippel for sure. Belgian yeast is very strong. Bananas, pepper, spices.

T - Sweet, belgian yeast. Spicy. Very much like the aroma.

M - High carbonation.

O - A good trippel, but not over the top. I will drink it all day, don't get me wrong. But Avery sets the bar high with all of their other concoctions!

Served in a Walter Payton shaker pint glass.

Yup, Avery's definitely legal... Anyway, this stuff pours a clear straw-gold topped by a finger of white foam. The nose comprises light biscuit, black pepper, clove, a pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg, light banana peel, and confectioner's sugar-laden lemon. The taste brings in more of the same, with the spices still taking center stage, along with a vein of sweet flowers coming through the sides on occasion. The body is a light-leaning medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a drying finish. Overall, a pretty nice spice-forward tripel, one that shows its American colors fairly strongly.
