I drank this one at cellar temperature in a tulip.
A dense, four-finger off-white head forms no matter how gradually I fill my glass. Thick, sudsy foam. The body's a bright, transparent golden amber-orange.
The aroma is hoppy, in more of a juicy sweet way than in a bitter pine way. There are some herbal notes, along with a little vanilla, which is an unexpected, but pleasant, addition. It kinda smells like flowers! Honey, and a tangy orange scent are there as well. A very good aroma.
Bitterness is way toned down for a DIPA. Quite a malty flavor that begins with some citric hops, but turns into an aftertaste of biscuity breadiness accompanied by some nice herbal bitternes. It's a sweeter, less bitter example of the style. In addition to smelling floral, it oddly TASTES somewhat flora, if that makes any sense. I also think I pick up on a hint of vanilla... pretty nice.
The feel is kind of light and thin for a DIPA, with understated carbonation. It works pretty good for this beer though, as it goes down smooth.
A fairly unique DIPA that doesn't bombard one with bitterness.
