Dark brown with red highlights. Small tan head that disappears quickly.
Coffee aroma, a little chocolate.
Coffee dominates the taste, all the way. There is a hint of chocolate.
A little on the thin side.

Pretty underwhelming for a stout. More like a heavy brown but the taste is nothing special.

12 oz can with an October 2018 canning date stamped on the bottom; from the Wall of Beer (Clemson, SC; $2.29).
Pours clear but very dark reddish brown, near opaque in the glass with ruby highlights. A modest size beige head with decent retention but little lacing.
Moderately strong aroma for style with dark toast, dark dried fruits, dark roasted grains, alcohol and black coffee.
Flavor: follows but with less obvious alcohol, more chocolate, and just a touch of smoke. Moderately bold flavor for style.
Feel: near full body with low carbonation.

This beer pours a simple black with a solid brown head. The aroma features a solid amount moderately sweet coffee and chocolate, with a bit of woodsy spice. The flavor is nice and rich, with solid roasty malts, followed by sweet vanilla and burnt sugar, with the coffee and chocolate on the finish. The mouthfeel is very full for a beer of this strength, with foamy carbonation and a clingy rich finish. Overall this is a really well made stout, though the coffee character is not my favorite, it has excellent body and weight, and a really satisfying malt character.

From 32 ounce Howler.
Not pitch black cuz I see a lot of red, healthy off white head of foam, excellent lacing.
Big coffee and roasted malt nose, some chocolate, overall roasted and bitter.
Roasted malt is more apparent than the coffee to me in the taste. Dark chocolate bitterness, here but I definitely get some sweet notes and vanilla.
Medium body, carbonation is not overbearing.
Delicious and easy drinking. I dig it.

12 oz can, canned on 10/5/18. Pours dark brown with a medium creamy brown head that retains well and leaves some lacing.
The aroma is sweet roast chocolate malt and coffee.
The flavor is acidic burnt roast coffee with a little lactose. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, I remember liking this a lot more on tap.
