From a can (I know, heresy) obtained from a 6 pack at QFC in University Village near UW campus. Aroma is very sweet. Banana, citrus, gum, and very delicate. Very inviting a pleasant. Appears bright, but translucent. If you mixed orange juice with pineapple juice, I feel like that’s what this looks like. One to two fingers of white head. Tastes like sweet, fruity citrus. Pineapple, banana, coconut, plenty of other tropical fruits. It’s not overly citrusy or carbonated, it really has an incredible balance. It might be too sweet for the average beer drinker, but it’s just right for me. Palate has a perfect balance as well. Good carbonation, no bad residual flavors, goes down smooth. I can’t think of anything else I would ask for. Overall, this is one of the few beers that I feel comfortable buying a sixer of. It seems like no matter what mood I am in, I could be in the mood for this. This beer is what turned me on to Avery, and now I know I won’t go wrong with picking up any of their high brow stuff.

Poured from brown 12oz bottle to pint glass. No freshness date.

A - The beer pours a cloudy soft yellow color. The 3/4 finger white had had literally no retention and minimal lacing rapidly fading to a silky film.

S - A very mild aroma consisting of a bit of lemony citrus along with a floral character and the yeast.

T - Just like the nose the beer starts with the tart lemony citrus flavor with hints of pear and spice. Mild malt character and mild bitterness. Yeast dominates. The beer finishes with the yeast flavors. Dry.

M - Watered down? Extremely thin. Lightly carbonated.

D - Extremely average.

Overall, after reviewing the beer I remember why I haven't cared for it: watery, average, yeasty. Nothing outstanding at all.

Note: This review was a re-post from my former account, jmkratt, which was hacked and I lost all my reviews...sorry for the redundancy.

Christmas gift, being enjoyed a few weeks later after a pasta dinner.

Pours a hazy light gold/straw color with less than one finger almost white head.

Nose is sweet, wheaty, slightly citrusy, and has notes of apple and blueberries.

Taste is sweet with slight hints of orange, tropical fruit, and a bit of sweet spice. Wheat body is very noticeable, but enjoyable. Crisp finish with wheaty sweet aftertaste and moderate to low carbonation.

Overall this is well-rounded, tasty, and sessionable. Would drink again if the time and place were right!
