Visited during a trip to Colorado in Sept 2022... For some reason, my experience here (or vice versa) makes me think of when I went to Surly Beer Hall a year later. Avery checked those boxes Surly didn't. Similarly grand in scale, but Avery was more cozy and properly lit and laid out. A place where I could relax... After a deliriously long drive from Denver north then back down south (having visited in one day: Accomplice in Cheyenne, New Belgium, Funkwerks, and Oskar Blues), I ended my trip at night at Avery. Sat at the bar. Crowd outside, crowded inside... I think I had brisket nachos. Sounds like something I'd get. I think I had Maharaja and some other unfamiliar brands. Food and drink was on point. But that's not the point... My bartender (or the food runner?) was fantastic. Made my night. I believe his name was Mitch. I can't remember where he said he was from, but he was one of the more personable personalities I've encountered in all my beer travels. Quite conversational. Even sat down at the bar with me after his shift and we shot the shit about travel and I can't remember what else. You can't teach good talk... My hazily recollected impression of Avery was favorable enough that I'll definitely go back when I undoubtedly get back to Denver sooner than later.

Avery is, in my humble opinion, the finest Beer Mecca west of the Mississippi. It checks all the boxes. Community values, all are invited. Live music playing, a BBQ pit smoking brisket outside, full menu of food offerings, plenty of seating, a fantastic selection of tap beers, bottled rarities, all the merch your wallet can handle!
Go there. Yes.

Visited around ten years ago. Service was incredible. Tour was incredible. Staff was incredible and generous. Their beers span the gamut between the tried & true, and the experimental. Probably my favorite larger microbrewery in the United States.

Very enjoyable place to end the day on vacation in Boulder. Sat outside, mellow vibe with not too loud music. Great service. Food was very good - I got a salad, husband had fish and chips, both excellent. Took a self-guided tour after. Would definitely go back if we return to Boulder.

A big and modern, two story building, across from a little canal side park. The interior is chock full of dark wood and some brass fixtures in a medium sized upstairs tap room. There are a number of one-off limited beers that make it worth a visit, besides having the core beers, fresh on tap. One of the limited release beers was my favorite of the four tasted, Hog Heaven an imperial red I.P.A. All the beers were at least better than mere good.

Took a brewery tour with the wife’s grandpa and was blown away by their high octane beers and operation. We did the brewery tour around Christmas time. At the end of the tour I asked about their barrel room. He then took her grandpa and I back in the barrel room, which isn’t part of the tour, and explained their barrel operation. Loved it. The Demons of Ale and Pumpkin Ale are a must try.

Awesome stop on the outskirts of Boulder CO. Huge footprint, with indoor/outdoor options and multiple bars. We went upstairs and got food. Super attentive and fast service, with excellent knowledge of the beers and the dishes. Huge selection of beers on tap - upwards of 20 - including the barrel agers that are harder to come by. Of course, the to go options and the merch is all there. Last but not least the food - spectacular. Creative options and absolutely delicious.

My fiancé and I went in for a drink and ended up taking a brewery tour. They had it all down, the vibe was great (quaint areas and party areas), the quality was very very good, the service was well informed and great, the selection was broad and the food was delicious. I will be back there again, next time I'm in Boulder.

This is my absolute favorite brewery and beerpub on earth. Period. I literally planned a second trip to Boulder from Albuquerque, NM (500 miles driving) to revisit Avery. It pleased just as well as it did the first time. Go. Have the BBQ. Drink the drinks. Venture into the secret bar in the back of the brewing facility. Enjoy.

Avery's current facility has an informal downstairs taproom area, with ample outdoor seating for nice days. Upstairs is a gift shop, catwalk bar overlooking the canning line, and a more elegant-looking bar and restaurant area. The food is pretty solid, gourmet new American fare. Roughly 30 beers on draft at any time, including a great variety of brewery-only releases. Experimental sours, ancient ales and barrel-aged monsters and demons abound. There were way too many tasty-sounding beers over 15% abv when I was there recently.

Avery, if you can make it, is an amazing brewery with a fantastic layout. The selection is superb, and the New American style food if you are hungry, hits the spot. There are three main locations to drink in, but if you can, come on a not so busy night and sit at the main bar when you walk in. The other 2 rooms (lower room and smaller wet bar through the "factory tour") are fine, but the real Avery experience is in the main room. While the location can be out of the way at times, especially if you are not from Boulder, Avery is well worth it.

OK, I'm an easy grader, but Avery is definitely a great pub to visit, the beer is great (although not all of their beers are equally great, some are fantastic), we had a great meal there and loved their apricot and ginger sours. The beer we liked the least was Maharaja, which used to be one of the highest rates IPAs!
