I've visited the Avery Brewery several times but now I'm motivated to review.
It's hardly what you would call a pretty brewery like New Belgium or Odell. Hidden behind a carwash and other crappy non-descript buisinesses, Avery has zero street presence. However, once inside, things improve. A newly lengthened bar (now a longer L-shape) and enlarged seating area with tables and memorabilia, give Avery an improved atmosphere and it's a genuinely enjoyable place to sit and have a beer.
Quality is excellent, as you'd expect from such a well-respected brewery.
Service is exceptional. Every time I've gone in, whether for samples or a pint, the service is better than any other brewery I've visited. They not only greet you and make educated recommendations, but they ask you your name and offer theirs as well. Not only that but they remember your name when you come back to the bar.
Selection is great as long as you're only looking for Avery beers. In this case, they have all of the "usual" offerings plus a lot of great brewery-only beers. They even have a couple on cask and a few pre-mixed blends.
No food other than the option to heat your own pizza. Something about not being able to serve food at a brewery in Colorado...
Overall very reasonably priced.
A great brewery with awesome service and excellent beers. What more could you ask for? Maybe some nice pub food but I'll have to bring that up with CO state legislature.
