The wife and I stumbled upon this joint while walking around Bella Vista / South Street, destination Bainbridge and Passyunk. On a beautiful winter day in mid February, we sat outside and enjoyed the crisp weather. Nice service from our waiter, who loved Bourbon County as much as I do.
12 taps and 1 cask: Duvel, BCBS, Ommegang Hop House, Stoudts 4 Play IPA, Mad Elf, Susquehanna Toboggan... pours are 8-10 oz or higher, and they of course sell growlers as well. Most around five bucks, except Goose Bourbon which ran me nine bucks.
I loved the food! My “Royale with cheese” was a double-tofu sandwich and the wife got a plate of fried mozzarella that was galaxies away from the frozen cheese sticks you typically get at a bar. This was true Philadelphia mozzarella with a great beer batter, served in a massive portion.
The three-dollar Bloody Mary’s for Sunday brunch didn't hurt either. A great bar, intimate and neighborhoody like Philly herself. Ample dining area on the back. Will come back and repeat.
