Hazy pale golden colour with a big, foamy, white head. Fair head retention.

Resinous aroma. Very piney. Not all that fruity or citrussy. No malt. Not bad but not popping.

Slightly harsh bitterness with moderate intensity. Resinous and lacking fruit. Okay.

Medium-light body with moderate carbonation. Okay.

It isn't a bad beer but it doesn't amaze me like some others I've had. Straight forward IPA which is okay.

22oz bottle purchased as a single from somewhere in the Middlebury/Burlington area.

Poured into an imperial pint glass, formed a 1/4" off-white head over the cloudy golden amber brew. Head holds on pretty well, with etched lasting lace. Aroma is citrus, oranges and tangerines.

Taste starts moderately sweet, juicy fruit citrus in the middle, closes with moderate bitterness. Mouthfeel is smooth, and drinkability is easy. Doesn't quite come together as well as it could, but the abundant citrus makes it a pleasant brew for sure.

Pours a mild gold with a huge head into my glass. Definitely within the IPA territory. Not as bright as the prior IPA I sampled.

The label mentions the use of cascade and centennial hops. Whoo! Stinks like a pine tree here and it's not much easier to describe otherwise. Must be really fresh.

The taste brings out citrus notes in addition to the pine. I'm not sure if I've had a beer with cascade and centennial in the same batch. It makes an interesting combination on the palate.

It's "juicy" in other words. The malt is very light and crisp too, allowing the hops to shine as they should.

Well worth a try. Definitely beats out their black ale.

(3.75) A: Hazy golden colour with a thin head that recedes to a bubbly ring where it lingers for a while. Streaky lacing down the glass.

(3.75) S: Dry pine, some tropical elements (pineapple & mango), tart grapefruit, lemon zest, and grasses. Fruit qualities are there but this may be a bit one-dimensional with a focus on the pine.

(3.5) T: Similar to aroma with certainly more citrus than tropical fruit present in the taste. A nice dry woody flavour with a lighter bready malt base. Solid dryness with equal bitterness.

(3.5) M: Medium-lighter bodied with moderate carbonation. Fairly creamy and smooth.

(3.75) D: This is a nice traditional IPA and worthy of a try. Good things come out of Cabot- I’d like to pair this with some Cabot cheddar.

22 oz. bottle poured into a big tulip glass. Decent white head with an aggressive pour. Some lacing. Smell is earthy, grassy, malty. Label says this is made with Cascade and Centennial hops. Taste is earthy and a bit floral. Not really much citrus to speak of. Maybe some subdued orange in the background. Reminds me of an English-style IPA. Medium bodied with decent carbonation. This is a far cry from a hop bomb, but it has some enjoyable subtleties if you're patient. Worth trying once but nothing spectacular.

From a bomber purchased at Beverage Warehouse, Burlington, VT in or around 8/3/13

Where's the love? A very fine IPA. Not an in your face West Coast kill ya with the hops beer, but certainly closer to West than East style. Lighter than expected, a click darker than golden with lace ghosts. Aroma is right there. A confluence of toasted malt and catty hops. The flavor is where this beer shines. Well balanced, albeit hop centric. Pine, earth, cat, decent caramel backbone and some alcohol. Medium bodied. Not all day, but still quite sessionable. Reminds me of the IPAs from about ten years ago, before over the top was the style. I was fortunate enough to get a fresh bottle, as I'm not sure how it would be a month from now.
