A - This is your typical local, big liquor store. They had a pretty large selection of beers, but also large selections of wine and other spirits.
S - Service was below average, with no one offering help, but nobody was openly rude.
S - Selection was nice, but I'm from Texas so we don't get nearly as much CA or Belgian beers in our state. So what may be shelf turds to people in Denver are new and exciting to me. There wasn't anything rare just hanging out on the shelves, but a nice overall selection.
V - Prices all seemed pretty reasonable.
Overall a good bottle shop in Denver, but nothing anybody from out of state needs to go out of their way to check out. If you happen to be near, by all means check it out.

It is BIG! But most of it taken up by 5000 different flavors of Vodka, which I am pretty sure none of us care about. At first I thought this place was awesome. Pretty good selection, but then I realized it rarely changes. They always get the rare stuff, but everyone goes here so it does not last long. Also they have a 1 bottle limit on most rare stuff, which helps everyone get a chance, but if I am in from Chicago I need more than one bottle of Pliny. Come on how about 3? Overall pretty good selection worth stopping in. Prices are right around where they should be. Dont expect to make some sort of awesome beer haul though.

At first glance this liquor store seems great. Huge selection. If you continue shopping there you realize the beer selection does not change very often and you can find the majority of the same beers in smaller liquor stores. Most employees seem very unhappy which kills the vibe very quickly. I once asked a cashier if they ever carried a specific beer and he answered by telling me he does not know because he does not drink anymore. Another time, I called ahead to reserve a keg. If you look online they keep a list of all the kegs they "may" carry at any given time but there is not a list of what is actually stocked, which is fine I get that. When I got someone on the phone I asked how I should go about reserving a keg and that I was interested in a keg of local craft beer. He paused for a few seconds and I had to ask, " do I need to come in there?" He said "uhh yeah that would be the easiest way." Did not fully understand why that was so difficult for him to answer until I got to the liquor store that night. When I walked up to an open counter I asked who could help me with reserving a keg. I was pointed to a different counter. He pulled up a giant list on his computer which had every beer that was on the list online, but there was another column with a quantity. Only problem was, they have about 1 out of every 30 kinds that are listed. So he scrolled down showing me for about 5 minutes. They did not have much outside of your standard Bud, Miller, Coors products considering their extensive list online. I then asked if it is possible to order something that they do not physically have in stock. The employee told me I would have to ask a manager (with no offer to do that for me). Seeing that they clearly did not care to help me any further, I agreed to take one they had in the back. The employee told me I would have to go to a different counter to finish reserving it. I walked over to that counter which had an employee standing behind it but his register clearly was not open. I told him what the other employee said and he looked at me like I was ruining his day. He even asked me why the other employee sent me to him. He did take care of me after that, but I was very close to walking out. Pretty simple solution to keep a printed rolling sheet of their keg list like other big liquor stores. Finally, I had another bad experience that I will save for another day. I was upset about the experience and gave my feedback to their website. It has been 2 weeks and I have received no response. I would much rather give my money to a place that even remotely cares about their customers experience. Do not fall into this popular liquor store trap!

A-Argo is a pretty good sized store with a slightly gritty feel thanks to its location on Colfax. The old building was a bit dumpy (but kind of charming) and the new building has really improved the layout. That being said, the organization is good, the place is clean, and there is always a lot of action, which is kind of fun.
Q-The beer selection includes a good assortment of sixers from Colorado brewers, a broad array of high-end imports from the old world, and an OK collection of beers from other craft hot-spots like California, the NW, and NE, as well as a pretty good mix of high-quality bombers and larger bottles. I rarely find rare beers here (and not all of the bombers are chilled), but I can always count on finding something decent when I visit. Turn-over is high, which is good because you'll probably get fresh beer, but bad because the more limited production beers don't stick around the shelves very long.
Ser-As others have mentioned, you will be left alone unless you seek out assistance. However, I have never had trouble finding an employee and the few times I have asked, the employees seem knowledgeable, if a bit gruff and curt.
Sel-Argo maintains a broad array of beers from here in Colorado and abroad. They could do better with a mixer-sixer selection and better with non-Colorado craft, but for sheer volume of different brands from Colorado and outside of the United States, they are near the top of the list.
V-Argo's prices are in line with the rest of the market. You can find an occasional sale that makes Argo really competitive, but the good stuff rarely gets marked down.

Another Colfax Avenue location, other than it being hipster and porn central, this is actually a good neck of the woods for people interested in beer. Cheeky Monk, 2UP & Argonaut.
A big huge store. Beer everywhere, tons of it in coolers. This place might have more cooler space than any other place I've ever seen. Really good pricing, lots of stuff you won't see anywhere else. And they tell you right up front on the sticker price if there is a bottle limit, not as much wondering if the limit placed upon you at the counter is because you aren't some ass kiss to the guy working in retail.
Service is good, guy went and looked if they got Tart of Darkness for me, told me when it would be in, price etc. . .
Kind of surprised at the relatively ho hum ratings for this place, I was nothing but impressed, spent way too much money, and just really thought this is the top notch Colorado beer destination. Must visit says I if yalls in the area.

Not sure what to say for atmosphere regarding a beer store, an older building, big and spread out, organized well. Broad selection of 6 packs and bombers. The one thing they are lacking is a Build-Your-Own-6-Pack option. That would put this place over the top and easily make it my favorite liquor store of the Denver area and my main spot to shop. But if you are looking for a 6 pack of a specific bomber this is the spot I tend to go for those options. Priced to market with some good specials going on all the time. Service is kind of spotty...workers do their own thing and you have to seek them out and make sure they got your attention to be of much help. But there's generally always someone walking around that can be of help. Personally, I tend to prefer this type of shopping rather than having to be checked in on by every passing employee to see if I am finding everything alright (which I do consider better quality of service, I just tend to prefer my own space until I ask for help).

This place was huge and overwhelming. Nicely lit, everything on racks or end caps, and refridgeration units to the left.
The quality of the beer was good for local stuff and hard to get breweries like Russian River even though they were out of Pliny. We didn't walk around the store too much, but got what we were looking for. The employee we asked looked out back for some Plliny only to find nothing. He then showed us some rare beers that they got that would only be gone within a few days. We thanked him for his help and grabbed what looked good to us. Very surprised to see Shipyard distributed out here amongst all the breweries from this part of the country and west coast.
This was a nice store, but a but pricey plus and 8% sales tax on top of the beer you were buying. Next time in Denver, looks like it would be better off to visit the breweries themselves like we have done since Thursday. The majority of the time we got the beer for a very good price. Make sure to bring a lot of money or your charge card. Things added up real fast for the beer we purchased.

Stopped through here after discovering 120 minute at another spot in town. If one place just got it, the good ones all got it. Walked in and immediately asked for that. Computer showed 11 yet "they might not have any". Just got a weird vibe but an employee did go on the hunt. I did browse this enormous spot and all the beer is to the right. Decent selection but no help with numerous people walking buy. For the size I wasn't too impressed with the selection of beer. I did get my 120 min so I am VERY thankful for that, but I enjoyed other places around town more.

A- Very nice new facility. I had never been in the old one but the new one looked sweet. This place has a ton of alcohol and wine and beer. The beer is located on the right side of the store and in coolers and on shelves behind u as ur facing the coolers
Q-Very good. Never saw anything out of date
S-Was ok. Everyone looked really busy. So when i asked a question the guy showed me where the beer was i was looking for then left to do something else. Would of liked him to asked me if i needed anything else but o well
Sel- Selection is ok. Alot of 6 packs and a few bombers in the cooler. I was alittle dissapointed as i didn't see any lost abby of Russian river sours. But as i was heading up to pay for my beer. i noticed a big long huge isle with tons of warm bombers from Russian river. So i picked up some supplication and looked at al else they had for another 20 min or so. So there selection is very good IMO
F- didn't have any
V- thought there prices were a little high buti exspected that as they are a chain and Craft beer is not there main focus or where they make most there money
Overall this place was great if ur in the denver area. I will frequent this place often whenever i go back to visit family in denver as my families house is only 5 blocks from this place

I stopped in here while on my trip to Denver trying to locate some beers that I can't get in CA to FedEx to myself.
This place has a lot of liquor, wine, and beer.
The atmosphere is very business like and professional. The service was average. I asked one question and the worker was very curt about it.
The selection and quality of beers was good with a good stock of a wide variety of styles and breweries. I picked up a few bombers due to their no mixed 6 policy which was pretty disappointing as there were tons and tons of beers I wanted. There is no way I would buy an entire 6 pack of something just to try it out.
The prices were reasonable for what they offered. I walked out with 2 bombers of beer I can't get in CA for $10.
Overall, a pretty good place to stop in at but the no mixed 6 policy is disappointing.
