At first glance this liquor store seems great. Huge selection. If you continue shopping there you realize the beer selection does not change very often and you can find the majority of the same beers in smaller liquor stores. Most employees seem very unhappy which kills the vibe very quickly. I once asked a cashier if they ever carried a specific beer and he answered by telling me he does not know because he does not drink anymore. Another time, I called ahead to reserve a keg. If you look online they keep a list of all the kegs they "may" carry at any given time but there is not a list of what is actually stocked, which is fine I get that. When I got someone on the phone I asked how I should go about reserving a keg and that I was interested in a keg of local craft beer. He paused for a few seconds and I had to ask, " do I need to come in there?" He said "uhh yeah that would be the easiest way." Did not fully understand why that was so difficult for him to answer until I got to the liquor store that night. When I walked up to an open counter I asked who could help me with reserving a keg. I was pointed to a different counter. He pulled up a giant list on his computer which had every beer that was on the list online, but there was another column with a quantity. Only problem was, they have about 1 out of every 30 kinds that are listed. So he scrolled down showing me for about 5 minutes. They did not have much outside of your standard Bud, Miller, Coors products considering their extensive list online. I then asked if it is possible to order something that they do not physically have in stock. The employee told me I would have to ask a manager (with no offer to do that for me). Seeing that they clearly did not care to help me any further, I agreed to take one they had in the back. The employee told me I would have to go to a different counter to finish reserving it. I walked over to that counter which had an employee standing behind it but his register clearly was not open. I told him what the other employee said and he looked at me like I was ruining his day. He even asked me why the other employee sent me to him. He did take care of me after that, but I was very close to walking out. Pretty simple solution to keep a printed rolling sheet of their keg list like other big liquor stores. Finally, I had another bad experience that I will save for another day. I was upset about the experience and gave my feedback to their website. It has been 2 weeks and I have received no response. I would much rather give my money to a place that even remotely cares about their customers experience. Do not fall into this popular liquor store trap!

Dropped in on a Thursday morning. Place was surprisingly busy and quickly made my way to the beers. Very large selection and some nice stuff I dont see in Texas. Made the rounds and went back for a shopping cart to load up. Prices seemed fair, but dont really have anything to compare it to for the area or for the breweries I was buying. Saw lots of staff but they didnt take the time to interact and when I asked questions I got rather short yes/no answers. Fine, but not the overly friendly types that you run into at some stores. Would certainly be happy to go back if I ever find myself back in Denver.

Denver landmark. Nice store right off Colfax in an exciting area that is slowly being gentrified by yuppies. Why are the entrance doors so tiny?? Beer selection is above average, with plenty of hard-to-find beers and one-offs available. Prices, too me, seem a tad higher, but that's probably due to loaction. Staff is kind of hit-and-miss; most are nice and helpful, some would ignore you if you had a woodpecker on your head. Overall, it's an above-average store with a good selection of beer.

I actually haven't been to the Argonaut in several years, but it's a great beer store and it left a great impression on me. I was in Denver for GABF a few years back and a day or so after the festival I hit the Argonaut to stock up for the flight back to TX (where, sadly, we don't have access to a lot of the good stuff sold here). Rows and rows of great beers (and a nice selection of spirits as well), with a back cooler that had any style you wanted, if not every brewery. I ended up getting several singles of local stuff that were, at the time, not available in TX. The coup of the trip, of course, was a bottle of Pliny the Elder from Russian River. Hadn't had one before and sadly haven't had one since. But thanks to the Argonaut I had it at least once. That's the kind of stuff you remember about beer stores. The rare finds and the wonderful selections. And that's why I give the Argonaut such high marks. Cheers.

Visited what appeared to be a relatively new store. The overall selection was good and they did have some unique/rare one-off beers, but not many. The staff was helpful in finding some unique beers. Would visit again in the future.

Customer service here was awesome. Told them we were from out of state and they brought me into the back to show me the limited/special release items in the back and also made solid suggestions for great local beers. Terrific store.
