Poured from a bottle into a standard pint.
A=Rich brown with a tint of yellowish orange...eggshell colored head was 2+" and lasted over a minutes.
S=Caramel with a hint of molasses.
T=Cinnamon taste is predominant...ginger and or nutmeg also present...very similar to a pumpkin beer, but much more natural tasting.
M-Rather smooth with light carbonation.
O=A very unique and surprisingly good beer...will likely buy again, especially when the Copps opens in my neighborhood next year and if available as part of their mix six.

Darn. The second review. Oh well.
This is a dark brown that shows ruby red with light behind it. The thick, long-lasting tan head left some good lacing on the flared tulip glass into which I poured it.
The aroma is malty with distinct caramel and spice, very little hops.
The taste is lightly sweet with caramel leaning toward a burnt sugar. The spices are subdued and there's an undercurrent of wine or port that carries it through to the end of the medium long finish.
This is a medium bodied brew with a chewy mouth appeal. Very substantial but not too filling. Another would have been nice.
This is the sort of thing I really enjoy in the Winter Welcome style, a good strong ale with lots of flavors going on and little or not hoppy bitterness. The malts and spices are expertly balanced. I'll be getting this one again.
