Poured into a pint glass.
Appearance
Amber/mahogany with excellent clarity. Low carbonation.
Nose
Caramel, candy sugar, hints of toffee & biscuit.
Taste
Biscuity malts with notes of toast, brown sugar and dark candy sugar. Some subtle roastiness going on with cocoa nib and toffee.
Mouthfeel
Medium bodied, clean, crisp and refreshing.
Overall
Tastes like an English Brown Ale which I wasn’t expecting. Quite refreshing and sweet.

Bottle: Poured a light amber color ale with a medium size off-white foamy head with light retention and some lacing. Aroma of light caramel notes is pretty bland. Taste is also a mix of dry caramel malt bland notes with some residual sugar notes also perceptible. Body is light with good carbonation. Lacking character and complexity.

From a bottle at a Portuguese restaurant - best by date of 4/2017... consumed before and during rodizio, which is rotating sequence of barbecued meats. Medium brown and clear, slim finger of tan foam. Mild aromas of soft pine and sweet brown bread... soft dark citrus and sweet toffee-like impressions... light- bodied and easy to drink - pleasantly surprised and not nearly what I'd feared. Drank nicely on its own and paired well with the meal.

Listed in the "1001 Beers To Taste Before You Die", my review and possible re-rating comes after I Have this again... and return to Portugal.
