16oz can dated 5/8/23.
Pours cloudy gold with an inch of dense white head. Persistent retention with plenty of spongy lacing. Green onions with grapefruit and pineapple skins in the nose. Medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel. Dank and oniony on the palate with minimal malt or bitterness. Finishes with lingering dank citrus.

The OG konkey. Still the king of the lineup.

My second NEIPA tonight. The last one I drunk was above average. This beer is a collaboration with American Solera. When I saw this label, it reminded me of the video game. I wonder if that was the intention for this label, nonetheless, a witty name for a beer. I served the beer in a tulip glass at 46 degrees. The bright white head is airy and creamy, forming a three-fingered head. The retention of the head is above average, leaving some lacing on the glass. Pale straw color with light gold hues is the color of the beer, graphing it around SRM 2. The beer is hazy.
The initial aromas in the beer are oranges, mangos, and crackers, Nosing further in the glass, I detect biscuit, bread, lightly toasted malts, floral, a hint of herbal, passion fruit, lemons, a touch of grapefruit, and dankness.
The first sip of the beer I tasted lemons, grapefruit, and oranges. The second mouthful, I detect pineapple, grapefruit, resin, pine, floral esters, and herbal note. Other flavors I taste are crackers, lightly toasted malts, bread, passion fruit, musty, and dank.
The mouthfeel of the beer is watery and tannic.
The body of the beer is medium-light, medium carbonation, and a medium finish.
The beer is watery. In this NEIPA, I was craving the ripe fruit and lush malty body. The flavors in the beer are hard to perceive. This beer did not deliver; I wanted more depth. I am curious to know what the difference from the original beer by Hoof Hearted.

Pours an opaque orange with two fingers of white foam. Head retention is good. Aroma is papaya, tangerine, mango, orange, lemon zest and lightly nutty, bread yeast. It smells smooth and sweet. Flavor profile is tangerine, papaya, mango, orange, lemon zest and lightly resiny hops in a dense, nectar-like profile. It tastes dense and full. Mouth feel is medium-thick with a razor-edged effervescence that adds a mild crispness. Overall, well definied and established with huge NE IPA qualities. Tropical fruits here are a little calculated and present than in other attempts.
Served in a 15.5oz Spiegalau tulip from a 16oz can.

Love the name and label of this and of course, it's rating on here! Couldn't resist trading for it a while ago but as with so much else that I have here in my stash, this wasn't dated on the bottom of the can. Regardless of it's age, this held up well as it was a good, balanced example of the style while having a hidden alcoholic content.
Of course, the pour to this was golden and cloudy with more than enough head topping it off. Plenty of lacing was left behind with much of it being concentrated along the top of my pint glass, in the form of one of the thickest rings that I've seen in a long time. Lots of tropical fruit and creamy sweetness on the nose as the taste almost reminded me of something from Tired Hands. Pineapple, soft floral hops, lavender, and unripe fruit enter the mix as this warms up with the subtle complexity really shining through as I worked my way through this. Plenty of basic, bready malt to balance this out but this never felt heavy-handed or contrived as it went down quite easily.
Enough booze was in here but this was easy enough to like that I hardly noticed the alcohol. A bit of warming took hold by the time I finished this off but all I wanted was another, fresher can. Just like SingleCut, I love beers with hops from the Southern Hemisphere and this was another brew that proved why that's the case. Nicely done and worth it's rating on here!
