Black in color. Tan creamy head. Appearance is spot-on. Mild, nice malty aroma. Doesnt smell exactly like a milk stout, but the aroma is quality regardless.

Flavor is malty, burnt, chalky, and even slightly sour at moments. This is a nice, basic tasting stout, but I dont see how its a milk stout. The style seems off to me.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied.

Appearance: Black with 1 to 1 2/2 finger head, retains for a while after the pour.

Smell: Chocolate, toasted, coffee.

Taste: Toasted chocolate with subtle hops.

Mouthfeel: Smooth, lack of strong carbonation typical of cask conditioned beers, light-medium bodied,

Overall: Not bad as a cask ale. Was served at a closer-to-room temperature. For St. Patty's Day they offered the option to have the pour muddled with mint which I'm not sure worked with the beer or not. It did mellow out slightly after letting it sit a little bit.

Can > Tulip Glass
A - Pours black with a massive amoun of head, looks infected, fizzy tan wih medium lacing.
S - Roasted chocolates, some really nice toasted nuts, light hint of a smokey touch, overall good, but a tad bit too restrained
T - Sweet creamy roasted malts with light chocolate and toasted elements, very good flavor.
M - Creamy and very smooth and velvety
O - Good solid Milk Stout, would gladly get again. Aroma could be improved on though.

Aroma is rich and chocolatey, with notes of dark fudge and light lactose sweetness dominating roast malt and a hint of coffee grounds.

Flavor is similar, finishing with coffee grounds bitterness that is offset by lactose sweetness that lingers in the aftertaste. Nutty malt notes add depth. There's a hint of dark fruit that detracts a tad.

12 ounce can, no canning date that I could find. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like chocolate, lactose, roasted malt and a bit of coffee. I think the taste is pretty much just like the aroma. It's a mostly sweet chocolately brew with a bit of coffee and burnt/charred malt bitterness to it. Nice and tasty too! Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit creamy and coating with a good amount of carbonation. I think it's a good overall milk/sweet stout. This is the first North High brew I've tried, but after drinking this one I'll have to make a point to try some of their other ones now! $9.99 a 6-pack.

Enjoyed from a growler from Jungle Jim's in a DFH snifter. This delicious milk stout pours a rich blackish brown with a solid brownish tan head of tight beaded bubbles that dissipates to a thin layer, thick ring, and light lacing. Nose of chocolate, sweet lactose sugars, and a touch of black coffee. Flavors are exceedingly well balanced with a chocolate milk shake flavor up front and on the sides, moderate black bitter coffee notes to the rear, and an ever so mild hop note smoothing this awesome brew out on all sides. Moderately slick mouth feel and moderate carbonation makes this one of the finest stouts I have had this year. This could win awards. Truly awesome.

First brew from North High Brewing we have tried, and if the rest of their selection is as good as this we will make the journey to Columbus VERY soon.

Dude, this is good stuff. So happy they put it in cans to enjoy at home. They nailed it. Their hefe and pale ale are amazing as well. Cool beer folk with a great spot to visit.
