This silky smooth and elegant English-Style Porter, brewed with Hedonist Artisan Chocolate, is seductively complex with its rich caramel aroma and flavors that are balanced by a bittersweet finish.

Pours a deep dark brown with a thin brown head into my glass.
Burnt sugar and cocoa show in the nose. I'm thinking more butterscotch than caramel.
Sweet and salty upfront with that same burnt sugar note. I didn't want to say caramel because it's not the typical caramel you find in candy.
There's just enough body to support the salted caramel.
It works. I like salted caramel anyway so that's always a plus.

This is the worst beer I have ever consumed in my life. Whoever thought it was a good idea to mass produce this should be put to public humiliation. 0/10 would never try again and would judge anyone who did.

Poured from a tallboy can into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Dark brown pour... nearly black with massive foamy mocha head. Great lacing.
S: Chocolate, roast, and caramel. Sweet and dessert-ish.
T.F: Lighter than expected... decent roast/grain. Semi-sweet morsels... cocoa and caramel. Maybe some vanilla in there. A bit of balance from the roast. Some salt at the finish. Medium bodied at most. Well carbonated.
O: Not a favorite style, but better than expected from a Genesee beer. Delivers what's advertised... a decent dessert brew that's on the lighter side.

Not as sweet as I was expecting. Pours a black color with a minimal head that disappears quickly. Aroma is sweet chocolate and caramel. Taste is smooth and creamy.

I didn’t care much for this one. Big buttery caramel nose, but the caramel flavor just seemed so artificial. It was a bit overwhelming as well. I couldn’t get much flavor from the beer underneath the caramel flavor.

Had a decent body as well as a string aroma of roasted malt, and roasted dark black coffee. I got an oily nut aroma from this
Taste was very identical to aroma, not very sweet, almost dry. Could work well as a dessert beer but could be had anytime

12oz bottle into a pint glass. very complicated freshness dating, not obvious, or julian.
Black with brown tones body. small tan head which dissipates to a faint covering and ring. no lacing.
dominant aroma is molasses, very strong. a hint of caramel.
hmm. the taste is not bad, to begin with. not bad at all. chocolate notes, caramel, molasses. flavors seem to hit individually. As the drink went on though, this was a little less pleasing.
medium to full on the mouth. was getting the salted caramel faintly at the end. also a slightly slick coating.
overall, this seems to be one of those beers where the sum is greater than the parts. overall, it tastes good. the strong molasses aroma was a bit off putting, as was the slick finish. its appeal did not last. but overall, not a bad beer at all. interestingly enough, i grabbed this thinking it was the Southern Tier Salted Caramel, because, you know, Genesse and Southern Tier are SUCH similar names. D'oh! but all in all, a not unpleasant surprise.
