Poured from bottle to imperial pint. I believe a julian date code is stamped on bottle neck indicating brewed on May 20, 2011. Purchased in a "new craft pack."
A: Very thick off-white head with great retention and lacing. Crystal clear gold with slight amber hues.
S: Decent amount of hops in the nose with a lot of malt and a hint of orange.
T: Corn husk throughout with sweet caramel malt. A hops finish that is overpowered by the husk. Hops and sweetness are in contrast rather than balancing each other out. The finish leaves an off-taste to me.
M: Medium-bodied, definitely not watery. A little too thick if anything, but enjoyable.
O: Looks very nice and has above-average nose and mouthfeel, but falls flat in the taste category. Too much malt, too little hops, not enough balance, and an overall "off" flavor of corn husk.
