It's unfortunate that this is no longer available. It was a welcome addition to the thin ranks of tasty beers offered by the mid-tier producers. Don't be confused with the Michelob stuff, it's crap.
This is a wonderfully dark beer, as it is a mix of porter and lager. Love to get a coupld of pints of the porter alone. White head which breaks down with nice thin lacing on the glass. Has a roasty taste, which is expected, but not burnt. Could be a bit more forward, but it is approachable by those who don't love a strong roasted barley / black patent combo. No hop aroma, but it is not too bitter, as the roastyness mixes smoothly with the sweetness of the lager's malting.
This is not my favorite style, but is quite friendly with a pot of stew or mashed potatoes for that mid-July blizzard.

Muddy brown color, not the greatest looking blend, thin head. Aroma was slightly roasty, the dark element of the porter overwhelmed any lager sweetness or other component.
Watery mouthfeel, didn't impart enough chewiness. Enough sweetness, but overall, a bland experience, really, if this is 1/2 and 1/2, they should make it 3/4 porter and 1/4 lager to be what most black and tans have consistency wise or viscosity wise. The porter lacks hops, which further contributes to it seeming blase and watery.
Actually one of, if not the worst black and tans I've had. I'd take any variant I can think of over this, Michelob, Mendocino, Guiness & Harp etc. . .

The color a deep mahogany to brown with a ruby trim, the head is average in size, bubbly in texture and a light tan color, the lace is adequate to cover the glass. Nose is sweet malt, hints of caramel, crisp and clean, sweet start, sufficient malts to be appealing, thin top. Finish is light to medium in carbonation, the hops present and mild in their spicy bite, dry aftertaste, cant really say much good or bad for that matter, but not something I fancy.

Poured the most intense ruddy red brown - hard to describe but beautiful - with a disappointing 1/4" head of off tan foam that barely clung and disappated quickly. Nose was initially sharp, of alcohol, maybe some nut traces, burnt coffee.
Very even, nice malty taste, some coffee undercurrents, but the most boring, watery, uneventful finish of any porter-esque beer I have tried. A one way ride - downhill. I didn't particularily care for this. It might be good to cook with while you are drinking something else more worthwhile...but I doubt it.

Dark brown color, large head. Aroma is malty and sweet. Roasted malts, medium hopped. Light bodied "Black and Tan" this one is a combination of lager and porter. Good flavor. Mouthfeel is round. Finish is smooth and clean. Aftertaste is malty. KInd of average.

I didn't even know there was such a thing until tonight. Not a bad beer. It's nicely malted and goes down pretty smooth. Leaves a dry taste in my mouth. There's nothing complex about it. Just a decent beer, good for beginners. I would drink it without any problem.

Ahh. Allright this is old as hell. So i am exptecting it totaste pretty bad but hey, i have to dothis. They stopped making this. It pours a red as hell brown, really nice and smells like alcohol. Nice but small tan head. Maybe cause it is old? I dunno but it is strong. Malty as hell taste. Interesting porterish thing. But it does taste old.

A blend of porter & lager, a smooth mix.I thought the body was not as heavy as a true porter making this one very drinkable. Hold it up to the light and its more cranberry in color.Pours a small fizzy head with little lace. Good with a meal.
