Poured from bottle to an imperial pint. Packaged on May 20, 2011, I think, from possible julian date stamp on bottle neck. Purchased from Dundee's new 'craft pack.'
A: Crystal clear gold with a decent white head that dissipates quickly but retains well and leaves nice lacing.
S: Earthy hops and sweet malts.
T: Sweet malt transitioning into a hops finish, as is usual with the style. More of a honey sweet than a richer caramel sweet. A definite alcohol kick at the finish, and spicy hops linger. The sweetness is a little off base to me, not in intensity but in flavor.
M: Nice malt backbone per the style, with a medium body and a dry finish.
O: Fits the maibock bill, but doesn't excel anywhere. I'd rather have a Boss Tom's from local brewer Boulevard, but that's a seasonal.
