A: Pours amber to gold with a slight haze. 2” off-white foam collar hugs the glass producing excellent lace.
S: Floral, spice, pine, grapefruit, light malts.
T: Starts with light fruit and some caramel flowing into a grapefruit bitterness and dries out on the finish.
M: Medium body and medium carbonation to slightly above medium
O: An easy drinking India pale ale that that blends Brittish and North American qualities.

My first beer poured into the new Spiegelau Dogfishhead IPA glasses so was looking forward to the experience. A - slightly hazy amber in the glass with a head that diminished but I think the glass was very effective in replenishing it after every sip. S - aroma had a bit of happiness in there but I was surprised at how much fruitiness was coming through. T - taste follows the smell and again the amount of sweet fruity flavours seemed a bit atypical for the style. Slightly dry hoppy finish but I probably would have appreciated a bit more. Alcohol level is pretty well disguised. M - decent carbonation and mouthfeel but nothing interesting to report. M - decent beer but there are many better IPAs around so I probably wouldn't feel inclined to have it again.

Got a 12-pk of a Dundee Sampler for 13 dollars. The IPA was well worth a dollar. Is it great, no. Is it bad, no.

I love IPA's. I was gifted this. Sadly, I had one and gave the rest away. First IPA that I've given away rather than drink. I had great expectations for this because I grew up on and enjoyed Genny Cream Ale.

Pours clear, light amber color. Good head, not much aroma. A slight sweetness gives way to the bitterness of the hops. Mild lacing. I love a good IPA, but this one is relatively bland and unremarkable. It's "just okay."

Dundee India Pale Ale - Genesee Brewing Co. / Dundee Brewing Co. Poured from the bottle into a pint glass, it's gota two finger thick lumpy off-white head, droopy lacing, and a medium-dark amber body.

Smells like rich malts, not quite roasted, but still very pleasing. I'm also noticing the whole cone hops used in this beer. Not too sharp; nice and clean.

Ok, I taste the exact same components as the aroma. Nothing too sharp or offensive with this brew.

Dundee India Pale Ale's mouthfeel is clean and refreshing. Nothing lingers with this brew.

Overall, a 4.5 is given to Dundee India Pale Ale - Genesee Brewing Co. / Dundee Brewing Co. This is a fairly smooth IPA that still bring malt flavor to the table. I will buy this beer again.

Dundee India Pale Ale brewed by Genesee Brewing Co. / Dundee Brewing Co. This brew has an ABV 6.30% India Pale Ale pours out deep golden amber color, with a nice white head. The smell is rich with hops and malts. You also pick up on some grains in the smell . The taste is bitter at first , but a smooth aftertaste. There is a lot going on in this brew. You do pick up on the hops but they are not overpowering at all. This is one of the more mild IPA I have had. Dundee India Pale Ale has a nice balance to it there is nothing overpowering in this brew at all. The mouthfeel is bold, bitter and smooth just the right combination. Over all I'm giving Dundee India Pale Ale a 4.25 out of 5. Genesee Brewing Co. / Dundee Brewing Co. did a nice job with this one.

Bottle label data: none noted.

Clear, dark gold colored body with nice carbonation and a good, thick, frothy head. Little aroma other than some malt sweetness and the barest hint of hop spiciness. Mild malt flavor with an equal dose of hop bitterness; soapy. Medium bodied; slightly coarse on the tongue; dry finish.

A rather bland, unexciting IPA. The hop character, especially with aroma, lacks presence and impact. Even the malt flavors are pretty mild. The whole enchilada comes across as weak and stale. An IPA with a pretty face but a shallow personality.

12 oz. bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. My fourth and final beer from the Dundee variety twelve pack, acquired on sale at the local Jewel-Osco for $10.99. Expectations are average given the source. No abv listed on the bottle.

Poured into a Duvel tulip glass.

A - It pours a cloudy sienna orange body with some fine dark sediment in the glass. Just over a finger of frothy off-white head that leaves good thin spindles of lacing. Head has good staying power, and it appears adequately carbonated. Looks nice for what it is.

S - The aroma carries that same distinct creamy / yeasty sort of aroma that the rest of these Dundee beers carried. Fruity, jammy, and estery, though not bitter and hoppy in the usual sense of an IPA - I get no grapefruit, no citrus rinds, no pine needles, no resinous hop ooze. More bready, malty, & creamy. Pleasant enough, but not what I have come to expect from an IPA.

T - Taste follows the nose - bready honeyed malt, and some peachy aprictos n' cream. Mildly grassy, grainy, & floral, but still no bitter grapefruit, citrus rinds, or pine resins. Some mild alcohol astringency is apparent on the finish.

M - Smooth, crisp, & creamy. Medium-bodied with good prickly carbonation. Semi-dry finish, but not what I would describe as bitter. A bit more hop bitterness wouldn't hurt at all.

Overall, an average IPA offering at best. Worth a go, but not something worth seeking out.

This is awful. Almost a tin can aftertaste... Thin head that appears to last but disappointing.

Pours a soapy, off-white head. A citric aroma that is reminiscent of handsoap. Amber color. Starts with very bitter front. There is pine and citrus rind. There is a caramel flavor behind all of this which intensifies as the bitterness subsides. Finish is lingering citrus rind.

This is surprisingly okay. I was expecting something terrible, but was pleasantly surprised.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a Shaker pint glass, there is no "best by" date that I can find.

APPEARANCE: pours a cloudy light copper color with one-finger off-white head that slowly dissipated to a thin layer of small bubbles that lasted throughout, there is a good amount of lacing on the glass with medium carbonation

SMELL: light citrus, flowery and a little pine, the nose is very understated.

TASTE: the taste follows the nose, initially sweet caramel, citrus then a very mild piney hop profile, the hops became a little more pronounced as the beer warmed but still very understated for the style.

PALATE: medium body and carbonation.

OVERALL: this was a good beer but nothing spectacular, very reasonably priced at $9.99 for a sampler 12 pack, for the price and quality I would definitely buy this again. This is definitely one of the more mildly hopped IPA's I've ever had but I enjoyed it.

IPA? More like a barley wine if anything.
Most prominent smell and flavor is barley alcohol.
Thin overall body and feel.
A poor attempt at an IPA
Not a very good beer no matter what you call it.
The best thing about this beer is it proves "You get wait you pay for". Oh well.

A: clear; bronze colored; less than a 1 finger off white head that receded slowly to a thin collar; really nice lacing;

S: earthy;

T: medicinal; the finish bites my throat like a cough drop;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation;

O: nothing about this says IPA - no hops, no malt backbone; it does look great, though;

Poured from 12 oz. bottle from sampler pack into Tulip glass.

A: Clear medium amber with a one finger white head. Very appetizing.
S: Typical IPA hoppy smell. Sweet mandarin orange, blueberry, slight floral smell, and a hint of pine.
T: A slight bitter taste that doesn't hit as hard as some of the West Coast IPA's do. Sweet caramel malt flavors are noted after the bitterness. Fairly sweet, with an aftertaste that lasts no more than a few seconds. Not too bad.
F: Medium body with decent carbonation, slightly sweet, but with good hop bite.
O: A GREAT budget IPA. I got this from their sampler, but wouldn't mind getting a whole six pack. Not very offensive, and would be a good starter for someone looking to try IPA's who hasn't gotten used to their bitterness yet.

Poured into a glass.

A - Dusty amber. 2 finger head goes quick but leaves good retention. Nice lacing.

S - Grapefruit, lemon grass and some pine

T - Starts with a blast of grapefruit, then just fruit. There is a slight sweet malt underneath it all.
Finishes a bit dry with pine notes. Cool.

M - Medium

O - Excellent find! I wish they sold it in 6 or 12 packs here in Michigan. Cheers!

More malty than hoppy, doesn't have that lasting hop kick you would expect from an ipa

Amber color with a thin thick head with medium retention and leaving laces.
Aroma of caramels, honey and some English and herbal hops.
Predominant malty flavor with notes of citrusy and earthy hops, some pine, biscuit, caramels, tea bags, orange marmalade and herbs.
Dry aftertaste with a medium bitterness. It feels less bitter than 60 IBUs, though it is not that fresh with 5 months to expiration date.
Medium body with appropriate carbonation. Alcohol of 6.3% abv is absent, hidden in its malty base.
Quite malty IPA, probably a bit cloying after a few. Cheap in the US having a cost benefit, but not a good choice in that sense elsewhere.

... not impressed. I like IPA's, but this one let me down a little. It had the bare bones of what I wanted, nice hop flavor and in the nose as well. Standard carbonation and mouthfeel and appearance. It was oddly sweet, however. A little vanilla bread like and metallic. Not impressed with Dundee.

355 mL bottle - or should that be 12 fl oz? - into pint glass. No expiry date.

Medium gold color, substantial head just slightly off-white with little retention.

Aroma is dominated by hops, mostly piney with notes of citrus and spice. Noticeable sweetness.

Tastes of American "C" hops and very substantial sweetness - worty without a lot of caramel. It has the malt/hops balance of an English IPA without the malty complexity. After the second or third it gets cloying.

Mouthfeel is thick and sticky.

Decent IPA overall, but sweet and a little bit simplistic. I can't judge the price as this was picked up for me in the States and I'm a Canadian - but if this were priced in the "budget" range here in Ontario, I would definitely pick it up on the regular.

Dundee India Pale Ale (IPA) 6pk bottles $6.99(OH)

12 oz brown bottle poured into a white wine glass. No freshness date, just bottling codes you will have to look up.

pours a nice clear amber color. two finger peach-white head that lasts a good time. followed by decent lacing hugging the inside of the glass.

The aroma is rather light/subtle for an IPA, however it's a budget price. A light hoppy, floral citrus smell. With a slight hint of pine.

The taste is subtle too. Subtle grapefruit and citrus notes, followed by a hoppy floral taste. finishes with a touch of pine, bold and bitter. Not bad but could be better, but for the price cant complain at all.

mouth feel is light to medium body. Has a light citrus sting that sticks around. It is bitter which is true to style. However it's over carbonated with is not true to IPA style. Unlike most IPA's that I have had.

Overall a Good budget IPA. Not an IPA to shout about. I have had way better, but the price is right and cheap. Found this at my local wally world, never seen anything from dundee in my area except for their geneese brand and honey brown. Not a blow you away IPA but a Great budget buy for a brew that is easy to drink and nice ABV too.

Develops a nice head upon pouring which dissaptes quickly leaving a thin layer of foam. The beer is a clear amber color.

Smells lightly hoppy, and not a whole lot else.

Tastes hoppy and a little sweet. Not too bitter. Slight metallic aftertaste.

Smooth and light, with a little bite.

This is a very light IPA, without a whole lot of character. Very easy drinking, though. I bought this as part of a sampler pack, mostly because it was pretty cheap. Its a decent beer for the price, but not too exciting.

Purchashed from Wegmans on Taft Road in Liverpool, NY. Very reasonable price. I have been spending alot of money on craft beer lately and have been looking to cut back. This beer came in a seasonal 12 pack. The beer is not nearly as bitter as I would like my ideal ipa to be but it is a good combination of malt and hops. I drank the beer at room temperature. If you are looking to cut back on cost yet you still want to enjoy a nice craft brew don't pick up a bland american adjunct give dundee a try you may be pleasently surprised.

Overal this is a pretty average IPA. It has a clear amber colour with a average head retention and good lacing. It produces a slight grapefruit and pine aroma. Fairly bitter in tastes with very subtle traces of malt. It's a medium bodied beer with a nice lingering aftertaste. The most appealing aspect of this beer however is it's the cheapest, highest ABV IPA I can find in my area. Though it may be an average IPA, dollar for value makes this a very decent IPA.
