Can: Poured a bright golden color lager with a medium bubbly head with limited retention. Aroma of corn and sugar is pretty intense and somewhat gross. Taste has a sweet edge with some bad adjunct that just takes too much space. This one is real bad pale lager with way too much adjunct showing.

Appears a deep golden straw color much like a glass of apple juice with a fizzy bright white head forming and dwindlingly quickly. Minimal speckled lacing very thin trace amounts.
Aroma a touch of rought grain filled alcohol, cooked veggies, creamed corn. Genny Ice I had to to do it tall boy cans for a six were $3.20, talk about a cheap date.
Flavor is terrible residual sweetness from the freeze, taking water away from the standard Genesee wouldn't help the experience. Rough grain flavor, cooked veggies, a touch of green apple and evident alcohol especially for a beer only 5.5% abv.
Mouthfeel is cloying carbonation is unnatural, overall a very poor sensual experience after taste is much like stomach acid.
Drinkability not really an option for me to drink more than one of these, actually I'm not making it through a whole one. God awful terrible beer, standard Genesee is great compared to this mess.

Not as clean tasting as milwaukee's best ice or OM ice but this isn't horribly bad. Just bad. It just tastes more beery. Not as malty liqoury as the others. This pours a Light gold color with a good fluffy white head that dissapears quickly. The smell is less clean than the others also. Sort of a chemical corn. The taste is quite sweet. The moouthfeel is nice and crisp. Not very drinkable and there are much more drinkable ice beers out there. I don't go to an ice beer for flavor, i go to it to get smashed.

I don't know what posessed me to buy a can of this.
24 oz into imperial pint glass.
A- bland, dull clear yellow, huge fizzy head that settles out to nothing in a minute or two. Par for the style, although it's not very pretty.
S- Stale. Stagnant. Beer-y. Skunky.
T- soggy veggies, stale bread. Wow, this sucks. Flavors aren't too powerful, but they are very bad. Sweet grain alcohol component- not hot, but the alcohol taste is there. Prob. cause there's nothing for it to hide behind.
M- The poor flavors are thankfully obliterated by the heavy carbonation. Thanks..?
O- Aye naye. That's tirrible. Can't find much of anything positive in this one.

My most recent foray into the long-past Ice beer phenomenon originating in the 1990s was an unmitigated disaster. I'm blaming Genessee mostly, though I've admittedly soured on the style. A thick patch of soda-like off-white foam tops a clear light golden body. Not bad, but it suffers with an embarrassingly short head retention. For an Ice beer, it sure does stink like Genny--same light, sweet corn malt, same simplicity. Drinking this actually makes me chuckle. It's a little strong, with the alcohol more front-and-center than even most Ice beers, but just like a suped-up Genny--thin, sweet, and elementary. As I drink, I question aloud why this beer was made--like malt liquor for Genny lovers. Bad, just plain bad.
Why these beers get made baffles me--profit motive clearly, but how is this satisfying? Is this canned hemlock for depressed people? Is it a shoddy attempt to wring cash from Genny staple drinkers looking for a little something extra that its poor canned cousin can't provide? Either way, pass and run for the hills if you encounter this.

Your usual "ice" beer. Needs to be served extremely cold to keep from gagging on the bad taste. I say, chuck this and just buy vodka. If you are that desperate to get drunk, there are better and cheaper ways.

This guy is a tough sell. Price was unbeatable but the beer is leaving something to ask for. The appearance is not completely yellow, but instead has a bit of an amber hue. The rest is history. Smell is quite vegetable-like and not very appetizing. Taste is very metallic and filled with all sorts of uncomfortably bad hints of rusty nails and stale popcorn. Mouthfeel is nothing to mention. This one is hard to drink. Leave it on the shelf.

Pours a decent pale golden/straw color with a bit of head that dies very quickly.
The nose is full of pale malt and what I think is Czech hops, smells basically like a pretty strong Euro lager.
The first taste is big on the pale malt and hops which is good, but after a second it warms up and transforms into a skunky mess.
Light body and fairly smooth, but the aftertaste is horrid. It wasn't bad until that part. Not much else going on, no malt complexity or hop character.

A - Typical see-through yellow with a massive frothy white head. Small lacing.
S - Corn, malt, rice, aluminum
T - Sprite, rice, slight grain
M - Heavy carbonation with a light to medium body.
O - Overall, It's just another adjunct lager. No frills.

24 fl oz can, with no apparent freshness date present. First time I have ever seen this beer in my area, although it's probably been around. I thought it might be related to the Labatt Max Ice, but I guess not. Would have rather tried this in a bottle, but oh well. Been trying to tick off as many adjunct lagers and malt liquors as possible as of late. Low expectations for this one, considering. But perhaps I will be surprised.
Poured into a Firestone Walker pint glass.
A - Pours about a finger of quickly dissipating white carbonated head, audibly sizzling away on top of a clear gold colored body. Slightly darker than typical swill American adjunct lager fare like Miller Lite and Bud Light. Second pour yields about two fingers of fluffy sizzling eggshell white head that recedes quickly.
S - Corn adjuncts and corn husk. Some grain and some roasted malt. Doesn't really smell like anything, to be honest.
T - Light in body, fair level of carbonation considering what it is. Clean, crisp, and smooth. Somewhat malty with a bit of corn adjuncts thrown in. Definitely exceeds my expectations, and comes off as somewhat of a tame beer in comparison with the Steel Reserve 211 High Gravity that I just drank. Not a flavorful or complex beer by any means, but drinkable and inoffensive.
M - Smooth, crisp, wet, and clean feeling. Moderate carbonation, and moderate bodied feel. A little carbonated, but not over-bearing. Mostly just a corn kernel aftertaste.
Overall, definitely not breaking any new ground with this. Another one of the same, simple, boring, generic alcohol delivery vehicles. Corn adjuncts and carbonation. Minus the subtle differences between these types of sub-par swill beverages, it seems that if you've had one, you've had 'em all. Some are however, more foul and putrid than the others. Genesee Ice Beer could probably be classified as one of the more inoffensive American adjunct lagers, but there are way better beers out there. I guess you can't expect much more from a 99 cents tall boy can, and I have definitely had worse beers for more money.

Below average 40oz. for $1.59. Piss yellow pour, head lasts forever. Smells like adjuncts, tastes like adjuncts, but not overpowering, have had worse. Mouthfeel is watery and fuzzy as one would normally expect. Overall, it's best quality is it's cheap price and I'm on a tight budget until this weekend.

Picked up a six-pack of tallboys when I was looking for something cheap the other day. The beer is gold and creates a big, bubbly head that vanishes almost immediately when poured into a pint glass. Smells of dry grain and sweet vegetables. Tangy, metallic flavor with some sweetness mixed in. I doubt I'll be paying for any more Genny Ice, but I wouldn't turn down a free one.

Reviewed from notes.
A. A somewhat deeper (yet still clear) yellow color with another bubble-bath foamy sudsy head that sticks around for a minute or so, minimal spotty lacing.
S. The nose is pretty much just straight sweet corn with a mild accent of diluted grassy hopping.
T. Not good. Way too heavy on sulfurous tones for my palate. Sulfur almost completely covers up a cereal graininess that goes dry almost instantly, but I have a hard time detecting what happens next because it is obscured by sulfur and mineral chalkiness.
M. Medium-light body, gently carbonated, terrible lingering sulfurous aftertaste finish.
