Dundee Porter brewed by Genesee Brewing Co. / Dundee Brewing Co., with an ABV of 6.5% This brew pours out a nice brown color with an off white head. The Dundee Porter looks like cola. Dundee Porter Has a rich smell of grains and malts . You also pick up some sweetness in the smell. The taste is mild with roasted gains and light sweetness. The taste is bold but smooth. There is nothing overpowering in this brew, it has a nice balance to it. Genesee Brewing Co. / Dundee Brewing Co., did a nice job with this one. The mouthfeel is nice and rich, with a clean smooth finish. I would buy this brew again. Overall I'm giving this brew a 4 out 5.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a Shaker pint glass, there is no "best by" date that I can find.

APPEARANCE: pours a dark brown color with less than one-finger tan head that dissipated quickly leaving a thin broken layer of small bubbles, there was some lacing present, medium carbonation.

SMELL: roasted malt, chocolate, black licorice.

TASTE: the taste follows the nose, roasted malt, chocolate and black licorice, the 6.5% alcohol was barely perceptible.

PALATE: creamy with medium carbonation.

OVERALL: I don't normally drink porter but got this as part of a sampler pack. This is not my favorite style of beer but I enjoyed trying something different. Great price at $9.99 for a twelve pack. This is not a bad porter and I would have again at this price.

The porter is the only one in the Dundee variety pack worth drinking. Having said that, it ain't saying much.

12 oz. bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. My third review of the Dundee beers, acquired as part of the variety twelve pack at the local Jewel.

Poured into a Duvel tulip glass.

A - It pours an amber chocolate color; appears a dark ruby in the glass with some light visible. One finger of light khaki froth. The color could be a bit darker, but it looks alright for what it is.

S - The aroma is merely alright, nothing too unique or special here. Some musty dark malts / graininess, and slight notes of cookie dough & chocolate. Not a terribly good aroma, but inoffensive.

T - The taste is a step upward from what I'd expected based off the nose. Much more bitter & roasty than I would have thought. Notes of cream / lactose, chocolate, cookie dough. Crisp maltiness / yeastiness present also. Maybe some minor cola notes?

M - The feel is smooth & fluid, slightly on the watery side for a porter, especially considering the moderate 6.50% abv. Easy drinking with okay carbonation.

Overall, not a bad easy-drinking porter from these guys. Again, like the other beers in the variety pack, it isn't something I would seek out, but it is definitely worth picking up for $10.99 for the pack.
