From the 12 fl. oz. bottle sampled on April 15, 2010. My beer for tax day. The pour is a very dark brown to just about black and the only way to catch some ruby hues is by holding it to the light. The head is about a quarter-inch thick of silky light brown. The aroma is rich in dark roasted chocolate with a distant backgound of cherry and malts. Not a lot of hoppiness in the scent. The body was bold but not heavy. The taste swirled with roasted sweet malts and chocolate coated with a faint smoky sensation. Extremely drinkable. I enjoyed this stout quite a lot and I think it is one of the better Dundee family brews I have tried.

Poured from a 12oz bottle, no #freshbeer info.

Ecru head forms, disappears in about 2 minutes leaving no trace behind really. Body is densely black, milky chocolate in the aroma. Flavor is thin, some chocolate but very neutral taste. Has hint of sourness and a metallic taste in the finish. Weak and not terribly enjoyable. Perfect for cooking!

Pours a dark brown color with a white head. Aroma of brown sugar and molasses. In the taste, roasted malt, chocolate, prune. Roasted flavors are the biggest, with a mild bitterness. Mild cocoa taste. Medium bodied, even feel but a bit watery. Overall, average stout.

Ok... soo.. Years ago, when adjuncts were King, I was young and mostly stupid (not so young now) I hated Bock Beer.. Bottom of the Barrel Swill!!!! But... This Dundee Stout.. from a Adjunct beer Company is quite good.. Nice malty, chocolate, molasses, foamy goodness.. (are there such a thing as beer s'mores?? ) that tastes of cocoa and chocolate and autumn. I love the fall variety packs the best.. Such a small investment for such a big return.. I mean.. the 12 pack Dundee fall variety pack I bought.. 11$ for 12 beers!!! Awesome.. And in the comfort of your own home.. no tickets, no flashing lights.. just a nice cold brew.. and an appreciation that you can have a good beer variety without pondering over the 1710 beers @ your local "in" spot..
Thank you, Dundee/Genesee.... Well done!!!
Carry on Citizens!!!
