Formerly: Original Honey Brown Lager

This isn’t your watered-down light beer from college. Nor is it a heavy craft beer. Honey Brown pours right smack dab in the middle. A delicious golden amber color, it’s a beer you can drink throughout the night while staying true to yourself and your evolving palate. Enjoy it with friends. Enjoy it with strangers. It doesn’t matter to us—just enjoy it.

Probably the beer that got me interested in beer.
I sought this beer out only to find it on tap about 16 years ago.
Loved it.. even craved it.

Fast forward 2014.... Not the same beer, Honey finish is gone and its now just a below average lager.
I'm guessing bigger breweries bought them out.

Very disappointed.

Easy to drink and can certainly taste the honey. Not very complex

Light honey color with a thin head
Aroma of light malts and grains.
Taste was sweet, but well balanced.
I liked this sweetness as it was followed by malts, light hops with caramel notes.
Light body.
Downside - watery and thin with high carbonation.

12 ounce bottle poured into a nonic pint glass.

L: Very clear light amber, 2” white head, foam hangs around a minute or two before disappearing leaving only a ring.
S: Large bread and toasted malt aroma greatly diminishes with the head.
T: Toasted malt, bit of honey/caramel sweetness, floral/citrus hops, herbal notes as well, sweet malty aftertaste.
F: Light, clean and crisp. High carbonation.
O: Not bad, perhaps a tad sweet, but a decent session beer.

12 oz can from a 12-pack. Just $10.99 at Wegmans. I drink this alongside a low country boil (shrimp, crab legs, andouille sausage, corn on the cob, and red potatoes) and it paired perfectly. It's not a complex beer, and might be a bit sweeter than I'd prefer, but it's perfectly good and hits the main amber lager notes - bready, hint of citrusy hops, light corn, touch of honey. Crisp, clean, and smooth. Solid.

Price is right. Usually around a buck for a 24 oz can.

Color is pale beer. On the yellow end of golden beer yellow-brown.

Smells like beer smell.

Taste is its strong point. Smooth as satin. Hint of sweet. Mildly bitter finish, just enough to let you know it’s beer.

Feel - smooth, balanced, a little crisp, a little round.

An excellent beer, especially for the super-low price. One of my favorite beers.

My son gave me a carton of this beer, impressed with its stunningly low price for a 30 pack. I had never heard of it, nor had he, and my expectation was that I would hate it due to an aversion to beers with additives (such as honey or raspberry or peppers). To my surprise I found it to be a smooth, sweet but not overly so, easy drinking beer, perfect to quench a thirst on a warm summer day. True, it doesn't compare to craft brewed brown ales (this being a dark yellow color, not brown), in taste. But given its low price, it beats the pants off most adjutant American lagers in flavor and drink ability in my view, and importantly, in price. Low alcohol makes it perfect for downing three or four glasses in a sitting with getting stupid. I like it a lot.

I too must say this was better than expected. To me it had the taste and smell of a good AAL and i rated it as such. better than all nascar lagers but not by a whole lot, just better tasting with no aftertaste. For 19.99 for a 30 pk in todays inflated market it’s a bargain all things considered

Much better than I expected at the price point. Nothing to dislike here. It's a classic, safe, proven style well executed. Easy on the alcohol content and not heavy, so easy to throw back a couple of or more of these. A nice change-up from more common or popular styles.

I almost threw up after a couple of these. Most disgusting "beer" I've ever tasted. Gave me a headache. I see why it was only $14 bucks a twelve pack. Never again! Avoid
