look: 3.5 | smell: 3 | taste: 2.5 | feel: 2.5 | overall: 2

Appearance: It pours a clear orangish yellow color with about 1/4" of white foam on top. The head was active, and ended up falling within about 30 seconds or so. There weren't any bubbles rising to maintain the head, so it sat there with just a small white ring around the top of the beer. There is a little lacing left on the glass after drinking.

Aroma: Really dry and grainy earthy aroma. There is all malt in the aroma, but it isn't the most pleasant mix. I am not sure if it is honey I smell, or if it is crystal malts. It seems more of the latter. There is a bit of a buttery and toasty aroma that is becoming more apparent as it warms that I believe is a healthy portion of Vienna Malt.

Taste: There is a malty sweetness that is the first player on the palate scene. This sweetness doesn't run things for long as the graininess then takes over in force. This whacked malt bill along with a really light carbonation level make this beer come across your palate rather heavy. It isn't like it didn't attenuate because the OG seemed to be really light as it was. As it warms, there is a metallic note that is coming out along with a musty flavor.

Opinion: Well, I wasn't too impressed with this beer by any means. The malt bill was out of balance, the water seems off for the style, the carbonation is too low...need I go on? It gets rather unpleasant as it warms, and one that I doubt I will drink again.

Purchased from one of the local grocery stores.

A: Clear amber with decent head and retention.

S: Balanced malt and hop with little bit of the honey.

T: More malt than hop with some sweetness.

M: Smooth with decent carbonation. Maybe a tad watery.

O: Not bad. I like the addition of the honey. You could do worse.

This beer is refreshing and balanced. Honey brown has a sweet malt flavor with seemingly no hops to taste. You get a sweet malt flavor at the front of the tongue with a pleasant mild honey aftertaste. The two different sweet characteristics makes you want to take another sip. The beer is easy to drink and an excellent choice on a hot summer day or night. Since there is no bitterness to this beer, it is an excellent recommendation to friends who are used to drinking typical American lagers.
