Poured from a can into a pint glass.

A : The usual ultra pale yellow, very clear. Pretty moderate sized head that leaves behind some nice lacing.

S : Ever so faint grains. Bit of the usual old adjuncts.

T : Same as the scent. Adjuct grains and an ever so slight sweetness round this one out.

M : Very thin. Nice amount of carbonation.

D : Extremely easy drinkability. Nice for slamming back.

Meh.

From a 24 ounce can.
Pours clear pale gold with a considerable white head. Some minor lacing.
Grainy smell.
Tastes like a Canadian macro. Malty with a touch of hops in the finish.
Excellent mouthfeel for the style. Carbonation is just right and hangs in to the end.
My first Genny Light. New presence in my home area. I will buy more if it can be found in the 12 or 16 ounce size. I like the 3.6% abv. also. If you are going light it should be under 4% IMO.
I think I found my new lawnmower beer!

12oz Can

Appearance – Clear yellow colour with an average size fizzy white coloured head. There is an average amount of carbonation showing and there isn't much lacing. The head lasted for around 3 minutes before it was gone.

Smell - Grains, corn, malts

Taste & Mouth - The beer has an average amount of carbonation. I can taste breads/grains malts and a light corn syrup sweetness. The beer finishes with a clean/crisp grainy aftertaste.

Overall – You're not going to be blown away by the taste of this beer by any means.. but for the style it actually isn't half bad. I purchased 30 of these for a recent camping trip and they worked out well. They have a bit of a sweet malty taste that kind of sets it apart from the other beers in it's category. I'd buy it again.

Sampled on June 24, 2011. It pours pale yellow with a fizzy white head. The aroma is full of corn and grain with a dim hop backdrop. The body is actually pretty good for a light lager. It is better than watered down. The taste hjas a dash of malts with a fresh hop bite at the end. An acceptable macro.

Golden and sudsy with lots of carbonation. Has an initial aroma of dank skunkiness that goes away after the beer has breathed for a minute. Dry grain aroma with some sugary undertones. Tastes of dry vegetables and grain. Has pretty decent flavor and a lot of body for a light beer.

A-Very clear yellow color. Fluffy head that leaves some lacing.

S-Very faint smell. Has the generic macro scent. Kinda goofy, a little skunky. Grains are the only real detectable scent besides the metal from the can.

T-A bit more flavor than one may expect. Very light still, but not as watery as many of the same lineage. Really not that bad, has a pretty crisp and refreshing aftertaste. Light enough to pound several of them but still kinda tastes like beer.

M-Very light. Watery. Nice crispness. Goes down easy and leaves a awkwardly pleasant aftertaste.

D-Yeah, this is drinkable. The fact that it is about %.5 less alcohol than other light beers is a setback because if you are trying to get hammered, its a few extra beers to drink. But the taste is better than expected. Overall, for the cheapest 30 rack at my college's local liquor store. I cannot complain.

Yellow in appearance like carbonated water mixed with yellow food coloring for the purpose of staining eggs around Easter. Head doesn't stick around for long, but a slim rim does. Well carbonated.

Icy-grass aroma with mild pilsner-like qualities. Some hops surfing in the distance. Dry in the nose for the most part.

Pleasant taste. Clean and inoffensive. Enough bite to make it a beer, but still balanced with the modest tasting, pale malt character.

Hard to ask for more balance out of this little guy. It doesn't rush to conclusions as it delivers a subtle progression of bitterness, moisture, and finally, an agreeable, slow-dry cleansing. I'm interested in finding this on-tap just to see what it's made of in my favorite format.

Notes: While I find Genny Light to be a quality light beer, I'm still not a fan of the style. A once-in-the-while for me, at best. If anything, it's much better than the Big 3 (Bud Light, Miller Lite & Coors Light).

24 oz can poured into a pint, finished in the can. This stuff just showed up in Washington state at 7-11 stores so I figured I'd try what I figured was the Keystone of the East for my annual SuperBowl trash-beer consuming ritual.

A- Terrible light yellow color, most akin to urine.

S- Overwhelming aroma of ricey adjunct malting and apple-juice like sugary scents.

T- Adjunct beer taste, but it was not as dry as say a Budlight or Coors light product, had a decent finish. Still had that strange apple like essence in the background. Taste did not deteriorate as it warmed unlike many adjunct beers.

M- As expected of a light beer, highly carbonated and watery.

D- OK actually. I'd take this over any of the "bargain" lights like keystone or busch.

Picked this up at Regent Liquor in Madison, WI for $12 for a 30-pack. Admittedly I had pretty low expectations for this beer.

Drank it from the can and it's not half bad. Very light bodied beer. Not a ton of taste or flavor but what was there wasn't too bad. Went down smooth, easy to drink. Not a great beer, but for the price, it will get the job done if you're going for quantity.

Sampled at Sexual Chocolate 2011.
Pours a thin looking straw yellow color with a HUGE billowing white head and no lacing at all. Smells of corn and sweet malts. Tastes of tons of grain and corn character, and some malts. Mouthfeel is very thin and fizzy and drinkability is very low.

NOT a Bad Light Beer (A lot better than Natural or Bud Light)

Reminds me of Miller LITE Beer.. Kinda Watery taste, EASY to drink. Smells like Corn and Grain,,

It's your Basic Light beer, Not as good as Regular Genesee, But very drinkable when your thirsty..

At $3.49 a six pack of 16 oz cans not a bad deal..

Not a great showing on the head, but one finger atop a brew of light yellow, rating a 2 on the SRM beer color chart. Lace is null. Smell is faint, veggie, cereal grains, malt. Taste is also mild, but balanced and refreshing for a light beer. Flavors of cereal grains, and malt. Little alcohol, but again this is a light beer. Most mouthfeel I have had in a light beer in a long time, not great, but better than water, with a nice zip from the carbonation. Good inexpensive light beer, better than many priced higher. Another good yard work/cookout beer.

A: Very pale pastel yellow and brilliantly clear. Decent size rocky white head that leaves a bit of lacing.

S: Faint, faint whiff of a beer-ish sort of hint of a smell that mostly makes me think of adjunct grain.

T: Not all that much of anything. Husky grain and cooked veggies with just sort of barely there bitterness that is washed over by a not all that strong adjunct sweetness.

M: Thin, weak, water body. Firm CO2, but not over carbonated.

D: The label looks like a water bottle - a nice blue splashing wave. How fitting. Truth in advertising. NE USA hillbilly H2O.
