The beer comes in a golden amber.

The aroma hits of sweet puree'd apples, apple sauce, hints of metallic, a touch of sulfur

A big sweetness up front of sugar and honey. Along with a slightly funky corn. A good biscuity sweetness as well. The beer is generally refreshing and cleans up reasonably well. The back end hits of that lager yeast quality.

The sweetness helps the beer out as the beer is not too dominated by unattractive flavors. Very light on flavor, but still one of the better AALs I've had.

A: Darker than your straight up BMC macro's. Pale golden. Moderate carbonation for the style. Finger and a half of dissipating foam. Shrinks to a thin white cap. Bubbles are big, but don't rush to the surface of the beer. No lacing on the glass.

S: Hops are leafy and floral. Malt is grainy, sweet, a bit metallic and has some distinct cereal notes (corn).

T: About what one would expect. Metallic, grainy, a bit of adjunt (but less than anticipated). Slightly sweet in the mid palate, the grain domination takes over to finish this one out. Notes of apple. Aftertaste of lightly toasted grain. Not a completely dry finish, with some residual sweetness.

M: Pretty good for the style. Carbonation isn't overblown. Softer on the tongue than expected. This one has a bit of body to it.

O: You can do a lot worse for the style. This one is decent and the six pack was 2.99. Would buy again for game day and/or BBQ's.

Clear gold with a large white head that goes fairly soon leaving some spatters of lace.
I rated the smell okay because I couldn't smell much at all.
Taste is mildly sweet with a bit of light hops toward the end of the taste. Mouthfeel is close to medium with just enough carbonation to give it a bit of crispness.
Yes it is a cheap warm weather beer but I give it a thumbs up. Purchased at Whole Foods Market for $3.99 a sixer.

Picked up a six pack at a Sprout's store near Dallas. Was surprised by the taste, I was expecting it to be a lot more bland than it was. One thing I really like is how smooth it feels in the mouth . For the price, it's actually not a bad beer. I've had much worse.

I'm thinking that there should be another dimension added to beer ratings: value.

Picked up a sixer at Whole Foods. Total impulse buy brought on by the $2.99 price. Yes that's "two dollars and ninety nine cents". That, and I noted the beer is brewed in my hometown of Rochester, NY.

Yup, it's an average American lager. Maybe a little better than average in terms of color (a pleasant honey-yellow glow) and body (not as insipid as many cheap beers). Hey, it even says PREMIUM on the can!

Factor in the bargain price, and this mostly harmless beer will bridge the gap between water skiing sessions.

"Premium" GOLDMINE LAGER BEER appears to me to be simply a re-packaging of Genesee Beer, but I could be wrong, it could be a derivation of Genesee Beer. Regardless of what it actually is, it falls right in line with other American adjunct lagers.

Its clear straw-gold body reveals a good amount of steadily rising, average-sized bubbles beneath a short cap of bright white foam. The head drops rather quickly, and it doesn't leave much lacing initially (mainly small spots and an occasional small streak or splash), but as you progress through the glass and it warms it begins to leave fuller lacing.

The aroma is fairly non-descript, revealing a bit of gently sweet adjunct-maltiness and some yeasty sulphur along with a very light touch of sweet-apple yeastiness.

The flavor reveals a little bit more corn-like sweetness, which is actually welcome because the aroma itself is so thin, but it's sweetish, and there are little hops to back it up. There's a dull bitterness, and a minor background hop flavor that's leafy and dully herbal, perhaps even tea-like. It's balanced, but very basic.

Overall, it's an average American adjunct-lager that neither impresses nor disappoints. It is what it is, which is what it's exactly what it's expected to be.
