22oz bottle enjoyed in a hefeweizen glass. Golden yellow color with a smallish head and not much lacing. The flavor I find to be a little tame compared to other weizens I have tried but it still is very easy to drink and I can make out some fruit, yeast and breaded malt taste. The palate is coated quite well; there is some hop bitterness and the brew is enjoyable to drink. The smell is of wheat but the banana aroma is absolutely amazing! Overall, I probably rated this higher than it is but again the fruit(banana) aroma was so delightful. First offering from Canterbury Aleworks and it did not disappoint.

Bottle to weizen glass, the appearance was a semi-cloudy pale yellow to orange color with a finger’s worth of white foamy to fizzy head. Sliding lace. The aroma had some toast, doughy yeast, light honey and banana sweetness. The flavor was moderately sweet through the prior mentioned aromas to slide into the aftertaste. Light clove does play a small part in the taste but, it’s brisk and not as noticeable as I thought it could be for a great hefeweizen. Finish was abrupt with the sweet wheat. The palate was between light and medium bodied with a pretty good sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt appropriate. Overall, for a German hefeweizen, it seemed a bit under than the top notch ones on the market. Clove seemed weaker to me.

From the 22 fl. oz. bottle. Sampled on September 28, 2013.
It has a milky pale yellow-olive color with a small fizzy white head but effervescent carbonation.
The aroma starts out with the toasted biscuit malts, yeast, and wheat one comes to expect from the style but they add a twist with a touch of honey and a banana note.
Light to medium body but also creamy smooth like honey.
For the first second I get a wheat, toasted biscuit malt taste but it's a Trojan Horse because in comes the honey and banana to take over everything. Very low bitterness (IBU is 11 according to their website). Very interesting and a little bit different.
