We welcome the re-release of Cowcatcher Milk Stout, named in tribute to the railroads that surround our brewery. Originally brewed as a limited edition 10-barrel batch, resounding appeals convinced us to offer it from January through April. This surprisingly sessionable brew is as black as night. With one deep whiff of its thick tan head, you’ll immediately catch the aromas of rich cocoa and dark-roasted coffee beans. Swish it around your palate to savor its full-body and smooth mouthfeel. It boasts a warm pumpernickel-bready flavor and finishes with a touch of bittersweet chocolate. Enjoy this beer with dessert - brownies, chocolate chip cookies, or any rich, sweet treat.

Awesome example of milk stout. Aroma is packed with deep roasted coffee scents but taste is subdued.

Had a pint on tap at Kelly's in Chesapeake VA. I have no idea why they serve every beer in a chilled glass, but I'm sure the light tan head should have been bigger than what I was served. Nice dense dark brown color with no light coming through. I let the beer warm in my hands before sampling. Nice, sweet malty beer with plenty of milk chocolate and lactose in both the aroma and flavor. Nice malty, somewhat sweet flavor. The lactose/milk presence is strong and smooths out this beer the way a milk stout should feel. Nice flavor, mild alcohol presence and very smooth. I would like to pour one myself in a closer to room temperature glass, but still found this very enjoyable. a good milk stout.

I'm trying this at the brewery. It poured an opaque dark with ercu head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had hints of dark chocolate. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with milk chocolate being most present. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a decent beer.

Nitro pour at the brewery. Black with thin nitro head. Very little nose, but smooth, silky mouthfeel with a dominant flavor of milk chocolate. Easy to drink, and overall enjoyable.

Draft at Yard House-Springfield. Dark, muddy brown with small beige head. Barely there roast grain aroma leads into a fuller taste, but still not that robust. Some notes of chocolate as well, but not enough to push this one above average.
