Hands down the best brewery in Temecula and one of the best in a large radius! Everything they do is fantastic! The Ballast Point pedigree is apparent yet, like with a son and his father, eventually the apprentice becomes the master! This is a phenomenal IPA! A seamless blend of several hop varieties makes for a crisp, dry, piney, citrusy bomb that you would never suspect came from a year-old brewery! There's a reason these guys are blowing up and a reason they have an absurdly loyal following!

My neighbor knows I dig IPA's so he was kind enough to return a favor by snaggin' me a bottle of this in return - thanks chris! Poured into a Brouwerij 't Ij branded tulip.
A: Pours a slightly hazed straw-like hue with a fat white head that gives way to massive amounts of lacing that coat my glass from start to finish.
S: Grapefruit rind, piney, chlorophyllic grassiness, cracker malt, finishing with a slight hint of distinct California ale yeast - nice balance going on here.
T: On point with the nose but with greater amounts of hoppy goodness - not unlike chewing on grapefruit rinds of the white grapefruit variety (not that fake pink shit), pine sap, fresh cut grass that recedes only slightly to reveal a modest amount of malt - just enough to lend a slight balance to the hoppy goodness of this ale. Damn fine West coast stylie here!
M: On the mellow end of a medium bodied brew, perfect carbonation for the style, with a great resinous finish from all that lupulus goodness.
Great West Coast IPA from a brewery I had no prior knowledge of. Thanks to my good neighbor here in OB, I was fortunate enough to try this fine ale. Damn good representation of what we're doing here in San Diego - again, fu*k the malt - bring on the hop!

This poured out as a golden yellow color with a nice white. The retention is good and the lacing is very nice also. The smell is dank with pine and resin hops on the nose. The taste is also citrusy with some harsh pine and other earthy bitterness. The mouthfeel is light bodied with a smooth carbonation. Overall I liked this quite a bit. I don't feel this is malt forward at all. I think this is very underrated. Worth trying and I think you'll enjoy it.

No this is what I like in an IPA, low malt and high hop! The appearance was a little light for me. I like a little more amber in the color which is kind of weird since I like the malt taste low. The aroma was fantastic, supper hoppy. The taste was just ok, there is some kind of hop flavor in there that I think I know what hop it is but I won't speculate. Mouthfeel was spot on however, very light to really bring out those hops!
Pretty decent IPA.
