Bomber style, on to the beer:

Not perfect golden colored, closer to light golden colored and topped with a creamy head which gives off webbed lacing. A blonde ale typically has a soft aroma, however this one is a little more upfront. Though clean, it has grassy accents and a dab of toasted malt. The flavor has a jolt to it too. Not quite subtle, but light and pleasant. Along with the citrus peel and grass notes, there's a cream ale character which gives the beer an extra something. It's light bodied and a little creamy in the body, and with little doubt one that is easy to drink.

Gunslinger is not your average blah golden ale. It's still light, but there's some flavor in here too. Flavor without weighing you down, that's Gunslinger.

The beer looks nice enough in the tall glass with clear golden color and a decent head. Light body and a sharp mouthfeel. A whiff of citrus for aroma.

Brewer says this has 17 IBUs, which is a surprise because of how bitter it tastes to me. Maybe there's just no other actual flavor. The taste seems to be just a lemony bitterness. Rather puckery on the lips. The first sip wasn't very promising, but it seems to get better as you sip. Just more bitter as well, which will be a plus for many. I'm always glad to see more beers with the ABV down towards 4, but this ks not going to win a repeat visit from me.

From the 22 oz bottle bought at Liticker's Liquor & Deli in Ocean Beach. No price gouging, this one was $4.30.

On tap at Ironfire Brewing Company in Temecula, CA.

4.5% ABV per the listing at the brewery.

Pours a clear yellow with a foamy off-white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, and grassy aromas. Taste is much the same with grain and grassy flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with some solid aromas and flavors.
