Appearance: It's a cool, cloudy beer. A lot of haze from the grain that looks pretty different and neat considering it is a blonde ale.
Smell: The grains win here. There is a little corn, some malt sweetness, and some grassy/earthy scents.
Taste: Falls a little flat. The multi-grain smell is a bit more complex than the flavor. It is a blonde ale, but given the array of specialty ingredients I expected slightly more complexity. It is an ok flavor, a mixture of the grains (corn, wheat) with familiar flavors, but it doesn't meld that well.
Mouthfeel: A bit sharper than it should be. Perhaps it is slightly overcarbed, or the grains dry it out. There is something off about it.
Overall: An ok beer that I would not order again. The 6 oz. sampler was plenty. And for a light beer, this is not Confluence's best effort. It falls somewhere in the nebulous "American Wheat" category in my opinion, but the flavor isn't quite there.
