Blood orange/black pepper saison aged 14 months in Allagash Curieux barrels with brett. Had on tap at brewery.
A - Golden orange with no head. Thin lacing around rim.
S - Lots of oak, citrus, bourbon, spicy, grapefruit, vanilla
T - The oak comes through strong in the taste too. Tart and spicy. Blood orange, grapefruit, and pineapple. Vanilla and a touch of bourbon. Fantastic.
M - Lingering tartness. Medium carbonation and light body.
This was the best offering I've had from Earth Eagle. A real treat and hopefully opening the door for more sour beers. The very different flavors created a very complex brew.
