A: Located on the Southside. This is an old-time restaurant and brew house. Dark lighting and dark wood around the bar give it a quaint feel. Kind of reminds me of a 'chain' restaurant bar, but not quite.
Q: The beers were fresh, for the large amount of brews on tap and in bottles, the beers were fresh.
Ser: The service was just fine. Fast and dependable. Nothing exceptional, nothing bad.
Sel: While you will not find those 'whales' there is a selection that is very vast. Over 21 countries, 40 brews on tap and countless amounts of bottled brews. Founders, Left Hand, Goose Island, Avery, Hoppin Frog, Dogfish, Bells...etc. A selection to please any beer enthusiast.
F: Standard pub grub. Nothing spectacular but it is more than adequate.
O: An affordable place with a pretty dynamic selection for Indy. If you need a diverse slection of brews, stop in here for sure.

A: Completely wood-grain interior gives the feel of an old time saloon. Bar is J-shaped, located in the middle of the restaurant. Upper level balcony adds additional seating capacity.
Q: Beer has always been of the highest quality. Food is good and of the pub grub variety.
S: Friendly service that is knowledgable and attentive.
S: Phenominal selection. Tons of bottles and a nice tap selection.
F: Food is good, but simple. Everything I have had here is tasty.
V: I think everything is pretty reasonably priced. There may be a markup on bottles, but this is to be expected and is nothing outrageous. There are a few nights with tap specials. Food is reasonably priced.

Atmosphere- is pretty good I love all of the old taps they having all over the bar, but it is sometimes a little smokey if it's busy.
Service - To me it seems that there really is only one guy that knows anything about beer and its the guy with the beard (I cant think of his name) he is really cool and doesn't mind talking beer with you. I one thing I don't like about this place is that they don't have prices listed anywhere. Its like yes I want a Stone RIS, but then you find out is $15 then I will have to pass.
Selection - is pretty impressive they have a lot of bottles, I would like to see more specialty taps but I understand that as a bar to make money you have to have your BMC products for the average customer.
Food is good, when I go I always get the steak sandwich or the Cajuan burger.

great beer selection, fish and chips while not greasy were portioned fairly small, service was good but then I got the check..$8 a beer?!?!?! not like we were drinking anything outrageous... a bottle of Founders Breakfast Stout and a draft Hoptimus for me and a draft Upland Dragonfly for the wife
Its a shame because the place had decent atmosphere but I can get a Dragonfly for $7.50 at Lucas Oil Stadium during a Colts game
hopefully this is not the direction of craft beer bars in the Indy area but it seems as the popularity of craft beer is exploding exponentially so are the prices

stopped in for first time in 15 years. nice looking place. antique bar. but that's where the positive comments end.
bathroom: strong smell of stale urine. ridiculous.
service: slow. indifferent at best, rude at worst.
beer on tap: 40 average beers - sheesh - 40 taps and nothing particularly special ?
bottles: many many bottles - maybe 200 or 300 or so. nice selection I suppose - still have bells oracle and also have FFF poppaskull.
cost: 8$ for a pint of Brooklyn black chocolate stout - really ?
see you in another 15 years.

In town visiting friends and family and needed a good beer bar to visit while in town. JAYBLACK reccomended this place.
When we first pulled up to this place, nearly hidden in a half empty strip mall, I was a bit unsure whether this was a hidden gem or just a hole in the wall. The atmoshpere was quite warm and inviting. Lots of dark wood with empty beer bottles and tap handles lining the walls.
We sat at the bar, so the service seemed pretty good. We never found ourselves with an empty glass without being asked if we were ready for another round. The bartender seemed fairly knowlegable about the 40 or so beers they had on tap. The only downside was that the bartender seemed to struggle with a good pour, I think as much beer was overflow as made it into our glasses.
The selection is terrific. Like I mentioned before there are around 40 beers on tap, and many times more than that in bottles.
The prices seemed to be on par with most other places, and they had several beers on "special" for around $3.50 a pint. Overall a good place, I will probably visit again when I am in Indy next.

Strange and unexpected place. A half vacant strip mall is the last place i'd think to find a legitimate beer bar. Even with gps it was hard to find this place. Finally found it wedged in between an "Old Tyme Pottery" store and a large vacant mall space with the sign letters torn off.
Inside, it felt like a British pub, lots of wood and narrow passages. The bar was to the right, elevated and through a small vestibule area. Lots of tv's playing the Final Four games, we cheered on Butler here. It had an authentic air though, betraying the strip mall locale. Lots of antique signs, and vintage tap handles lining the walls around the bar.
Selection was the best i've seen in Indy, plenty of gems on the bottle list like Bells 9000, Nemesis, and Hardys. A couple dedicated Stone taps on the wall, in between the coolers. Arrogant Bastard and the Oaked version. Almost 10 FFF varieties in bottles + taps. We didn't linger too long, but from what I gathered this was a unique bar with a superior selection of beers.
I'd stop here again, it's close enough to Parti-Pak to warrant another visit.

This place is great. Huge selection of taps plus bottles. I had Arrogant Bastard on Draft. NICE. Service was a little strained but it was a Sat. night so what do you expect. Our server was very nice and actually very knowledgeable about what they had. The food was typical pub grub but the portions were good size and I'm a big eater so that was nice. They have a few TV's but the attraction is the beer and the scavenger hunt. The bartenders are very nice and patient with newbies so don't be afraid to take your BMC friends. One of my favorites.

Okay. I was a skeptic at first. Really, a strip mall bar. From my experience, most strip mall bars are pretty much all the same. You cannot judge a book by its cover. A coworker told me I had to check the place out.
When you walk in there is a big glass case with hundreds of beer bottles from different eras and all over the world. The place looks completely different on the inside from what I thought it would look like. Lots of ornate woodworking and a very nice bar like atmosphere. The beer list is tremendous. I was there to try some stouts. The server really enjoyed talking about beer, big plus. He recommended a few things and he brought me some samples. I could potentially spend all week at this place, if it wouldn't kill me. The food was good, not great, but I can overlook that.
If you are a beer lover and live in Indy, check it out.
