750ml bottle. Pours a half finger off head. Dark deep brownish purple, almost black. Aromas of milk/cream, chocolate, malt and coffee but not strong coffee. More like a breakfast blend. Caramel. Sugar. I expected it to be full and creamy in the mouth. Wasn't. Much lighter and only lightly creamy. Definitely a traditional white Russian stout. Vanilla. Taste hints of milk chocolate. Ain't no espresso in here so that's a bald face lie on the bottle. Goes down smooth. No burn. No bad espresso aftertaste either. Easily drinkable. Guessing not a high ABV (under 8.0 would be my guess). Delightful to consume. Like it very much. Thank you COTU! Can I have another!

Taste like a white Russian that was mixed with beer.

22oz bottle from ThatCracker (thanks man!). Vintage 2013 (released 11/13). Served in my Phish snifter.

Pours cola black with a half finger tan head. A thin layer of haze persists and leaves small clumps of lace.

Smells of chocolatey malts, burnt sugar and condensed milk.

Flavors of espresso, dark cocoa, cherry pits, vanilla, chocolate milk and bitter burnt pine. Fairly bitter taste but drinks pretty smooth with no booze bite.

Medium body with crisp carbonation. Bittersweet coffee and cocoa finish.

Overall this was a decent stout. A bit thinner than I'd prefer and bitter for a milk stout but still quite drinkable.

Big thanks to ZachKelly for hooking me up with this bottle! Reviewed from notes. Poured from bomber into a Tampa Bay Brewing Company pint glass.

A: Pours a dark, dark brown and essentially opaque. Forms a thin tan head with fairly low retention and low visible carbonation.

S: They nailed the aroma - essentially perfect white Russian aroma. Creamy milky lactose, vanilla, coffee, roasted malts, and chocolate.

T: Follows the nose, but is a slight letdown. Lactose, roasted malts, vanilla, coffee and cream. A mild touch of cacao. Malty sweetness without and brown malt cardboard flavor. Roast bitterness and lactose sweetness in the hang.

M: Body seems a little light, but probably average for a milk stout. Low alcohol presence and fairly low carbonation.

O: Milk stouts are often not my favorite style, but this one was a nice beer in almost every aspect. They succeeded in making a very tasty, well-crafted beer on a somewhat gimmicky platform - not the easiest thing to do. It was very much a white Russian beer, as the name suggested. Very glad to have tried it.

This is like, totally my opinion ... man.

Was looking forward to quaffing this one as soon as I found it. Hard to get ... already sold out for the most part.

22oz bottle poured into an Imperial pint glass.

Wow ... What a massive disappointment.

Appearance was great - Black as night, but with a minimal head that didn't retain for long.

Only way I can describe the taste was thin and acrid. Like burnt coffee mixed with some tepid water. Didn't get much better as it warmed. No complexity, just ... meh. Carbonation went from too fizzy to flat very quickly.

Now, I loves me some COTU, and of course the Dude Abides. Being a Virginia resident I'm big on supporting our local breweries. But, at $10.00 for a 22oz bottle, I feel totally let down. I'm really hoping I just got a bad one.

Let's not start falling into the cutesy marketing ploys at the expense of the beer.

A classic milk stout , rich creamy head, sweet but not cloying, clean aftertaste. It's a rare one where you can drink another.

Received in a trade and poured into my Duvel tulip.

A - Poured a dark almost black hue with a light tan head that faded quickly to leave thin wisps and a halo.

S - Aromas of strong black coffee, light vanilla and light lactose. Rather acrid on the finish. The more I inhale the more acridness comes out.

T - Taste is a fair amount of vanilla, thin black coffee, caramel, light burnt roast, nice lactose. Fairly sweet, not nearly as much chocolate as I'd like to see here. Flavours are a bit on the sharp side. Again, that acrid roast really cuts in to this.

M - Mouthfeel is pretty nice. Bit crisper than I would like, just slightly thin.

O - So, I did this side by side with Pipework's Hey, Careful Man There's A Beverage Here and that beer edged this one out. While both had their flaws this beer here had some serious acrid issues and was really lacking on the chocolate

Poured from a 22 oz bottle. Pours very dark with smells of vanilla. The taste is milky with vanilla and chocolate with a very rich finish. It tastes exactly like what I would expect for a white russian stout. Overall, it's a very delicious beer from an up and coming brewery. It's a fantastic beer to be shared with friends.

Excellent use of malts to create coffee and chocolate notes. Very smooth finish. Needs very much to be allowed to warm up from "normal" serving temperatures.

I have had this beer on several occasions now and haven't been overly impressed. The later batches have been thicker than the early ones, but it's still too thin for my tastes.
