Stopped at the Birch Hall on my way with John and Chrissy to Whitby.
The Inn is in a very rural area with only a few cottages in the hamlet. A CAMRA multi-award winner. Oozing with character, very small main bar with outdoor beer garden. Beautiful location right next to the river. Only three beers from cask but the overall appeal is the traditional pub and rural nature. Sitting area of pub is so small (approx 15 total) that bar keep asked my friend John from behind the bar if he would mind placing a log on the fire! Food variety was limited with a few sandwiches and pork pies on the menu.
If you want to experience a traditional, rural pub, this is it!
