Looking for a World Wide Stout & 12 pack of Lowenbrau cans? This is your place. Oliver's is by far the best bevy in the area. They carry an excellent selection of craft brews & imports along with a "fine selection" of alcopops and macros. There is also 6 (I believe) rotating taps for growler fills featuring such fine products from Sixpoint, Blue Point, Brooklyn, etc.
The store is divided up in rows by country & is generally well-stocked & orderly.
The one downside of Ollie's is the parking lot- it's miniscule & people are by nature, stupid. Hit this place at a peak time such as Friday around 5pm, Sundays during football season or any random holiday and its near impossible to get in the parking lot, much less get a parking spot.

However, it is a must-go-to for all beer geeks in the area.

Oliver's is my go-to beverage center! The entire staff is extremely helpful and they always have a huge selection suitable for any beer drinker. I bought a bottle of Green Flash Le Freak the other day that was uncarbonated for some reason, and they were very quick to exchange it for me, no questions asked. I tell everyone I know about Oliver's, now I'm telling you all. You will lose track of time just trying to take everything in.

This place is the real deal. Not the prettiest store but lots of quality beer. Beers are arranged by state, it's a big enough place to do that. Some coolers around the perimeter but we're here for long aisles in the center of the store stacked with beer as high as I could reach.
The girl checking me out saw all the IPA's I had and suggested I try a Space Dust IPA from Elysian Brewing. Great call. I never would have tried it and it was first rate.

Yes this place is not all that aesthetically pleasing, but honestly who's here to look at the architecture?! These guys carry a hell of a lot of craft beer, some of which I had only previously heard of in stories from friends. I'm not a massive craft beer guy...that is until fall season when I attempt to try as many pumpkin beers as possible (Bumpin Pumpkin Beer). Oliver's has been an invaluable resource for seasonal, and rotating, options. They've also been extraordinarily accommodating in recommending pumpkin beers as well as allowing for a little bit of counter swag advertising for my blog. I'm not sure there's a beer these guys DON'T carry. Definitely check them out!

Incredible selection of beers and a helpful/knowledgeable staff. The quarter point demerit is for appearance, since the building and shelving seem pretty old and not attractive aesthetically. That being said, everything is well organized and easy to find. There is always a great variety on the growler taps, with something to suit everyone's needs. I make it a point to stop into Oliver's every time I'm in the Albany area.

This place is great. Knowledgeable and very helpful staff. But the real reason to stop by is the selection. I live in the dc area, which is only a couple states away, so I was skeptical that I'd find beers that aren't distributed in my area. I was wrong. I found so much stuff I had to put beers back to stay on budget (I was on my way back from Vermont so funds...and space in my car was limited) and still walked out with 18 different bombers and 6/4 packs.

Looks small from the outside. But once I walked in, I was surprised on how big it actually was. They have a lot of variety. A very good selection. The staff was pleasant and helpful. There is a growler station. Didn't notice the price for them though. Good selection on them also. Plenty of cooler space. Prices seemed standard. Will be going here again and again.
