Canned 11/2/16; drank 11/15/16 @ the Yarchives.
Black/brown appearance.
A violent pour yielded a nice, noisy dark khaki head which quickly dissipated; almost no lace.
Medium roast coffee bean, fresh earth & sweet cream notes in the nose.
Medium thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Sweet cream & burnt black coffee flavors up front; dry fresh earth notes on the finish.
This had a nice coffee nose, but the flavor was cloying & earthy; an odd mix. Drinkable but average.

I loved this beer when I 1st got it. Something went wrong since then as it now tastes sour. I’ve been told not to sit on the bba lake effect. I should have listened

Well, the bottle warns you. If you don't like coffee, you won't like this.
And I liked it ... with the wildly rich coffee smell being the standout feature. But I found this more like an iced coffee put to beer and booze rather than a complex sweet-stout base with coffee added. It was just a little uneven as an experience for me. I drank it at room temp--likely best.
L - dark black was appealing for a coffee brew, but really no head to speak of that I tend to like in a milk stout
S - as noted, huge coffee smell right when I popped the top--didn't even need to put my nose to the bottle. Richly scented, and you can sense the coffee is high-quality. Subtle and strong like fresh-ground beans rather than grounds. Earthy-smoky end scent.
T - sort of coffee-syrupy, and very good coffee, but as noted if you don't like coffee--or this *kind* of coffee--with a touch of tang and citrusy note--you may not like this. To be honest, I like a roastier coffee without any citrus ... and I like more roast creaminess in a milk stout. So the flavor fell sort of short for me.
F - feel was smooth, not flashy ... and felt like coffee
O - overall positive, but with some uneven feelings about it. Smell might be worth the price of admission, but you better like the coffee that's in there. I liked the quality, but found some flavor notes offputting.
