This beer, traditionally named Patersbier, or Father's Beer, is a low-alcohol Belgian style ale brewed by monks to drink as they made the higher-alcohol Dubbels and Tripels. Mamasbier is based off of the traditional Belgian Patersbier (Father's Beer), a low-alcohol brew crafted by Belgian monks to quench their thirst as they toil away in the brewery. Brewed with just one malt (organic pilsner) and one late-boil hop (Citra), and fermented with Trappist yeast, this is a unique take on the style, which is not often seen from U.S. breweries.
