Came by on Black Friday when my family and I were in town for Thanksgiving. With it being Black Friday they had special black beers on tap and had a randall set up on their Black IPA and did several different infusions. The environment was nice. The bar and taproom had a rustic feel to it and they had a large projections screen up for that were showing college football games. Customer service was great and I sampled all of their year around beers and all of their seasonals/specials. You can get samples for $3 a piece which might sound like a lot for each sample but they are very large glasses to be considered samples.

Very long bar with the brewing equipment behind glass in front of you. 6-taps available. Tasting of 5 for $15. Nice stuff overall. Nothing really pushing the envelope too much, at least the day I was there. I know they rotate things out a good bit though. For such a spacious place, I wouldn't mind more than 6 taps. But I could always deal with more anywhere I am.

Service was good. As usual, I am here to try beer and chill; don't want to be hounded.

This spot will do quite well for itself. I see them bottling and/or canning within 2-3 years and being a force of brewing in Southern Alabama (there really is no competition that is going to get in their way).

It's BYOF and no growler fills available on-site.

I always go back to FBC mainly because its the only brewery in souther Alabama but I also go back because of the customer service. FBC continually surprises me by opening their taproom for guest pretty much any time of the day, they just want to serve good beer and chat. Today they went above and beyond and not only opened the taproom but let me sample some new beer before they kegged it.

Dan Murphy and the Fairhope Brewing Company should be very proud. Most of the Alchemy Tavern Staff went over on Monday Feburary 4th and sampled all of the beers and some a couple of times. We had the Everyday Ale 3.8% ABV, Section St. Wheat 5.0% ABV, Fairhope 51 Pale Ale 5.8% ABV, and my personal favorite the Painted Black IPA 7.0% ABV. They were priced at $5 each, which is a great price for such high quality and fresh brews. Every beer I had was a perfect example of the style that it was and could be put against any other brewer in the country. We look forward to having available at Alchemy in the future!
