I've been homebrewing for a little over a year now and these guys have helped me all the way. They have a great selection of clone-brew recipes to choose from. The staff are all very knowledgeable and friendly and willing to help you with any question (no matter how dumb you may think it is as a newbie brewer). They price their recipes for you, so you don't have to figure out how much each individual ingredient will cost, but it's also totally fine to bring in whatever recipe you want to make. They also have a wide variety of home-brewing supplies in addition to a great selection of malts, hops and yeast. The hops are a bit pricey these days, but VV&B also encourages and educates on how to grow your own hops, since the Willamette Valley is pretty good for that. They have hosted lots of events and discussions for home-brewers and have a great literature section as well. Their new location on the corner of Willamette and 13th is even better and more convenient than their old spot. If you're in Eugene and want to brew, this is the place to go.

Brand new to homebrewing, and the pacific northwest, I went to Valley Vintner to browse and price check on a starter brewing setup and ingredients. Right away one of the employees came up and started talking to me. He ran down the complete equipment set I would need, told me about everything I might not NEED, but would make the job easier. He showed me around the whole place, discussed techniques, ingredients, books, the whole deal. He was very inviting, made me feel comfortable asking some very beginner questions , and simultaneously helped me And other customers at the same time, but still managed to be informative, polite, and very helpful. I will definitely be shopping at Valley Vintner for all of my homebrew supply needs, and i know they'll be there to help me with whatever i need. Also heard them talking about the possibility of opening a brewpub, and doing classes there, so I will be very excited to see that up and running. Overall, a great place for any level of brewer, and a 5 out of 5 in my book

Love the guys at VV&B. Always very helpful. Easy to talk to them about anything, brewing, making equipment, recipe formulation, hopping and growing hops, yeast, etc. I take in all my brews for them to try and get feedback on. Lots of selection, especially on hops. Grain room is very organized and clean, mill has a great crush. Go in randomly just to talk shop and brainstorm for future brews. Most everyone knows me by name which is awesome.

Only draw backs are that they sell some of the specialty base malts in bags only (makes it hard to experiment with a new base malt before dropping $65 on a whole bag), and the prices on Better Bottles are quite a bit higher than others. Besides this, VV&B is top knotch, great service, knowledgable staff, friendly, helpful, and them guys brew awesome beer!

I shop here everytime im passing through eugene, and since i live in Portland, that says alot. They have also helped with recipe formulation over the phone when i will be buying from another shop. All of the employees are great guys and know a ton on each part of beer/wine cider making.

Absolutely a great place to go.

I have forgotten some recipes and they saved it and sent me the ingredient list. Helped me brew the same batch beer again that turned out great.

The shop/grain room is clean and well organized, and they have a good selection of malts, hops, yeast and brewing equipment.

I've been brewing for a couple years now and this is my favorite place so far. I've used stores in California and Oklahoma and none of them had as much to offer as this store. The guy that helped me was very friendly and more than happy to talk shop and offer help and advice. I went in without a plan in mind and had a hard time narrowing down my choose. The guy working talked over the recipes and really gave me insite into each recipe. He was very knowledgable of the ingredients and could really break down the recipe for me. They had a great selection of ingredients, equipment, and recipes to choose from and they quckly got my order together. If your in the area this is a great place to get your next batch started.

love this place. i've been to a handful of brew shops around oregon and none hold a candle to valley vintner. the guys there are all super knowledgeable and excited to brainstorm ideas with you.

as for selection/value, they've got your grain bill covered, including organic selections all for a very reasonable price and best of all *drum roll please* their hops selection/price remains virtually untouched by the hop shortage!

i cant say enough about this place, they've got everything you need. even when living portland i wait to pass through eugene to stock up on everything i need at valley vintner & brew.

This is a great resource for homebrewers in Eugene. I started brewing at 17 and the first place I went to was Valley Vinter and Brew. Years later when I got out of college and started brew all-grain, these guys helped me out, big time. They'd even let me use their mill to grid the malts I just bought. Its a small shop, and can be a little cramped, but don't be afraid to come in with any questions, big or small. They've got everything you need, even a nice collection of recipes. They've created a really nice little niche here and the beer community in Eugene has been supportive of it for may years.
