Pours a nice golden color with a white hue and decent head into my glass. First time I've seen these cans on the shelf.

Balanced pine notes come through in the nose. Just a touch of citrus but not much. Buttery malt as well.

The balance carries over to the taste. Think a traditional American IPA, pre-citrus explosion. There's that decent pine bite and buttery malt.

It leaves a crisp mouthfeel with lingering pine and butter notes.

Very nicely done. I suspect the score of 81 may be based on the fact that it's not a citrus bomb. I think it works very well in the can.

No canning info visible. Poured from the 12 oz. bottle into a Tree House tulip pint.

a: Hazy orange with an inch tall white head which receded to even surface foam and semi-dense lacing.

s: Mild fruit cup (i.e. pear and other light fruit in combination)

t: Hop bitterness with some power over a light to medium malt base. Bitterness lingers somewhat. Spice notes appear later.

m: Medium, good body, lots of carbonation tingle.

o; A good IPA, bitterness-wise on the upper tier of a single, not a lot of hop flavor other than the subtle spice which appears near the end, but plenty of bite, a refreshing and stimulating brew. Fine for dinner or sipping.

A: Poured from a 12oz. can into a pint glass. Golden honey in color with a thick, pasty-white 2-finger head that gets a bit pockmarked and frothy as it dissipates, but leaves a nice film and good lacing. Slightly hazy with some good effervescence.

S: Malts and hops mix well on the nose, with a bright hop linger. Aromas of straw, sediment, lemon pepper, and some toasted malts all mix beautifully.

T: Bright throughout, with a very light malt flavor in-mouth and a dominant earthy/grass hop profile on the swallow and aftertaste. Quite bitter after, and with a note of wet basement. Lemony, toasty, with a dried leaf taste, as well as some nice floral notes.

M: Chewy in texture, with a nice subtle thickness that isn't off-putting. Substantial for an IPA while still remaining light (if that's possible?) enough to have a few. In-between a session IPA and a full-on DIPA.

O: A solid, tasty East-Coast IPA. Nothing too crazy in here, just well-made beer and a satisfying experience. Good for the backyard, around a fire, or huddled up inside on a chilly winter day.
