poured from a can in a pint glass. it pours a one finger head that dissipates quickly, no lacing.

appearance has a light cloudy golden color

I don't get a really hoppy smell, despite being advertised

it has a real bitter taste, very earthy.

mouth feel is smooth, very low carbonation, if any. don't seem like an ipa with 6% abv

overall a nice refreshing beer that is not heavy and I would drink year round.

On cask at Track 84 Warwick, listed as Prince of the Yahd
Comes to the table in a proper imperial pint glass. Visually, a slightly hazy light golden color with a huge fluffy creamy head that survives till the glass is empty. Extremely impressive retention! Aromas of bready malt and floral and citrusy hops. Flavor is bready with hints of caramel and just enough citrus and earth to balance with a nudge to the hop side. Medium body with a light level of carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. First beer of the night, so easy drinking, it slid completely down my throat before I knew it. Might be more of a pale than IPA, but its a solid brew.

Another beer courtesy of the legendary woodychandler. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Came gushing out of the can making quite a mess, despite no agitation on my end. Has a cloudy golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is very mild, a bit of hops. Taste is bitter, hoppy, a bit of lemons, kind of unusual for the style, and a touch unpleasant. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a mediocre beer.

12 ounce can, w/o freshness info

Clouded darker shade of golden amber. Sturdy and lasting lite khaki head, leaves real nice froth, low sheeting and scattered fine lace. Nice looking beer.

Big nose w/ floral, citric and per-fumy notes.

Well hopped and fresh tasting IPA, with more citrus n pine hop bombs dropping all over.

Quality IPA in a can. Impressed with this one.

Thanks to surge1311 for sending this one! Reviewed from notes. Poured from 12 oz. can into a Russian River pint glass.

A: Hazy gold, with a huge white fluffy head that lasts on top of a good bit of visible carbonation.

S: Pine, herbal, and flowery hops. A light cracker malt underneath. But overall, not a big nose at all.

T: Resin, melon, tropical fruit, and herbal hops over a light cracker malt that doesn't play much into the flavor. Definitely heavy-handed on the hop flavors. Only moderately bitter overall, but that bitterness lingers somewhat.

M: Light body, great carbonation sensation, and low alcohol.

O: Solid but nothing outstanding here in the sea of American IPAs - even the can as a vessel is becoming so commonplace. But tasty and easy to drink.

I have been awash in CANs awaiting inclusion in The CANQuest (TM) and this New England box recently surfaced. I actually visited the brewery last year during a visit to a friend in PVDRI. I like going up there as it usually dovetails with an AHL game at The Dunk, plus I totally dig Trinity and their beers. I was given several of Foolproof's CANs, but this one had not come off of the line at the time of my visit.

From the CAN: "Guaranteed to deliver an unspoken zen with a spatula in your other hand ..."; "The ultimate suburban brew, Backyahd is an aggressively hopped Ameri[CAN] IPA with a tantalizing hop aroma. The beer's bitterness pairs perfectly with spicy foods coming straight off the grill. Enjoy it with friends, family, or whomever you choose. After all, it's your Backyahd."; "Your Life. Your Beer."; "Experience Responsibly".

I heard a nice, loud Crack and celebrated with an inverted Glug. This created two fingers of dense, rocky French Vanilla-colored head with great retention. The room smelled like pine air freshener, so I fired up the grill to get some brats going. I know, you're not supposed to use charcoal indoors, but what's the worst that could happen? What, like I might die from carbon monoxide asphyxiation? Bah, humbug! Color was a golden-yellow (SRM = 5) with a slight haze. Putting my nose to the glass, the pine scent was intense and my mouth was watering. Mouthfeel was medium and the hops were biting on my tongue, worming their way into my taste buds like carbonic acid, stripping the weak, dead buds from my poor, bruised, aching tongue. Yow! I was running late, so I didn't have time to tie off and mainline so I CANtinued with an oral ingestion, but I was definitely getting off. Man, you had best like pine hops if you are going to tackle this bad boy. You know that I was digging the action. Sure, it was unbalanced, but it was not saturated with hops. The finish was desert dry, and I could hear the Zephyr winds blowing across the Sahara when I exhaled. Minty, flavorful and at a mere 6% ABV, this is a Hula in the Coola (01 Feb, annually) CANdidate as well as a potential summer cooler filler. Yum!

Served from a 12oz can into a Smutty pint. No freshness date.

Appearance- Clear yellow/orange with one finger white head that left a little lacing.

Smell- Adjuncts, metalic notes, lighter grassy hops, light caramel malts. Thats it. Nothing else going on.

Taste- Mildly bitter earthy hops, not much of a malt background. Mild citrus pithy bitterness lingers.

Mouthfeel- Smooth and crisp. Refreshing surprisingly with a nice medium body.

Overall- Cheap local IPA. Though it's still not cheap enough to warrant me buying it again.
