I got to "sample" a lot of this beer while hosting a beer tasting event at the liquor store I work at. I chose this brew because I was initially impressed with it, as were most of the customers who sampled it.

For the official review I poured the 12 oz can into a Sam Adams perfect pint glass.

A- After an aggressive pour I get a beautiful jet-black, opaque body with amber highlights. The head is thick, bubbly , and mocha colored which rises slowly and reduces even slower, leaving some thick, uniform lacing and a thick layer of patchy foam on the surface of the beer.

S- Primarily fresh coffee beans, toasted malt, dark chocolate, and maybe even a subtle vanilla-toffee aroma. The aroma is upfront and inviting.

T- Upfront I get milk chocolate, espresso, and vanilla notes, this develops into a bittersweet chocolate, roasty, nearly charred malt flavor that leaves a perfect bitterness on the tongue that is characteristic of an excellent robust porter.

M- Thick and creamy with low carbonation.

Out of the three flagship beers that foolproof has released, I have to say that this is by far the best one. They really hit this out of the park. It hits all the high points of an excellent porter/stout - it looks nice, smells nice, tastes delicious, and carries a thick, robust body. It's definitely a sipper, not a beer that you would drink the whole six pack in one sitting. Hopefully foolproof will expand it's distribution so more people can experience this one. Try it if you can!

On tap at Doherty’s Ale House Warwick 4/7/14
Solid dark brown/black small tan head. Chocolate and roast with hints of caramel and earth. Decent porter.

4/10/14
Can brought back from OSHC.
Pours a solid black color with a smallish tan head that dissipates almost instantly. Aromas of bitter dark chocolate with a hint of caramel. Light burnt and molasses notes with a heavy earthy hop presence. The flavor mimics the aroma quite well. Bitter dark chocolate with caramel and molasses as well as hints of dark fruits. Solid earthy hop bitterness and flavor. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a slick bubbly mouthfeel. I quite enjoyed this beer at home, great can.

The taste is rich and smooth. Unlike other Porters, this one tastes a little more smoother and less carbonated, but with less filling than usual. It almost seems as if the Mash during it's cycle of Brewing was more watered down /filtered a tiny more, and it was a one shot deal, and that's why i feel/taste as if this beer deserves an outstanding.

Im sampling a cellar temp can poured into a snifter.
The beer pours a dark cola brown with densely packed tan head of 3 cm foaming up. The head fades gradually to a sturdy edge layer.
Aroma is sweet malt with some molasses and a bit of brown sugar and bakers chocolate. i also get roasted notes and some mild spicy hop character.
First sip reveals a smooth textured body that features gentle spacious carbonation making the beer very easy to drink. Sticky coating properties after each sip too.
FLavor is big on the malt side with roasted malt up front, dark chocolate and maybe a little tobacco actually.
There isnt any alcohol to be spoken of nor any big hop flavor that I get. This finish is bitter, but it is coffee ground and almost burnt malt flavor that gives the bitterness not any hops.
A rich robust malt forward beer, that goes down easy and leaves a lingering roasted finish after each sip.
A worthy beer from a good brewery in RI.

12oz can. The box said the Canned on Date is 11/25. Pours a very dark brownish black color with a 1/4 inch of medium brown head. Almost no lacing. The aroma is slightly smokey with some dark chocolate, sweet hints of caramel, and earth. The taste is dark chocolate upfront with some nice roasted malts. Charcoal, earth, and black coffee. A bit of a metallic aftertaste, but its minimal. Fair amount of smoke flavor throughout. Light mouthfeel. Overall, its a pretty decent Porter in a can that I'd look for again.
