The new IIPA from Foolproof. Here we go.

22oz into tulip.

Aggressive head, good clarity on an amber body. Sticky, ivory lacing as the head settles. Good staying power, good visual appeal.

Grapefruit, simcoe stank (not sure of the hop bill, but it has that octane/pine resin quality) and more bright citrus.

Very very very bitter! Wow. A tongue - buckler. Grapefruit and pine sap, pretty dry on the finish. Good mouthfeel, crisp, drinks easier than a 9.5% IIPA should.

I like this beer. Wow, is it hoppy! I feel like that's the comment in every DIPA review, but this beer has a shit ton of bops. It tastes like a slightly drier 90-minute with way more hops.

A good effort from foolproof- now put it in tall boys and we'll talk.

A- pours clear and golden color with a small fizzy white head that reduces to a small layer skimming the top no lacing left behind

S- very intriguing nose, lots of fruity esters with some pear, orange peel, candied citrus fruit, some sweet sugary malt. Picking up some underlying hop aroma, flowery and citrusy. Also strangely picking up some lactose, dairy like sourness as well. Unique to say the least

T- the fruitiness follows the aroma with notes of fresh berries and stone fruit. Big malty backbone mid-palate, but it still underlies the fruity aspect of flavors. The bitterness is actually hidden until the finish, and some floral hops linger on the palate

M- medium body with low carbonation lead to a creamy mouthfeel and a smooth finish, just a hint of alcohol warmth at the end

O- this tastes unlike any IIPA I've tried, but I dig it. Good fruity notes with enough hops to keep it bitter

On-tap 12/21/2013 at Track 84, in Warwick, RI served in a tulip glass.

A: The beer is a deep gold color, with a short off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains floral hops, caramelized malts and fruity citrus.

T: The taste starts out sweet with a strong floral hops bitterness followed by a mild citrus and caramel sweetness. The malt character is thin for the style but brings a decent balance. The after-taste is slightly hoppy.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, good kick, good representation of style, this is a solid 2IPA to drink for a while.
