12oz bottle at share. Near black pour, still, flat. Roasty malty aroma, cocoa, coffee biterness. Taste is mooth and creamy, chocolate milk, light roast. Really nice.

Traded with a friend for this a while back and finally got around to it tonight. The few other beers that I had from Prairie Artisan were great but like so many others on here, I was really underwhelmed by this. It wasn't a drain pour but for something of this type and from this brewery, I expected so much more and it was just too thin and uninspiring to be beyond "meh"...
The pour to this was decent as the beer had a chocolate hue, tan and extremely frothy head that sounded like sea foam as it quickly receded, and quite thin. This was evident in how fast it came out of the bottle and the minuscule amount of lacing left on the side of my pint glass. Lots of dark sediment left on the bottom of the bottle too, even though this wasn't that old. Not a strong aroma to this as there was some cocoa powder, bitter chocolate, and roasted malt with more in the taste. Very thin, lightly carbonated, and not terribly sweet, this wasn't full of lactose either which made it a bit puzzling as to why it was characterized as a Milk / Sweet Stout. Dry and bitter, this had some roasted notes that stuck around in the aftertaste but not in an appealing way.
At least the alcohol was light here, which was good in the sense that this wasn't terribly strong but didn't help lift up it's weak flavor profile. Worth having a go once as fall starts to fade into winter but with so many better examples hitting store shelves now, I wouldn't reach for this again if it was available in this neck of the woods. Surprisingly disappointing...

No label information. Prairie Limo Tint is brewed in the style of a Milk Stout aged on chocolate. Available in 12 oz. bottles and on limited draft.
Poured from a 12 oz. bottle to a snifter glass.
(Appearance) Pours a milk chocolate foamy head over a dark brown body. Retention is average and lacing is light and spotty. 3.75
(Smell) Mild roasted grains, sweetened chocolate and dark chocolate notes, light caramel bread body. Big earthy chocolate notes, potency is moderate. 3.5
(Taste) Biscuit malt, moderate roast, burnt chocolate and a delicate finish of cocoa powder on the back end. Very easy drinking and accessible, although light bodied. 3.5
(Mouthfeel) Texture is slick, lightly chewy, softly fluffy, medium dry. Carbonation is mellow, generating a modest frothiness and a mildly crisp finish. Body is shy of medium for the style, medium+ overall. Balance is slightly earthy bitter and toasty over sweet. Alcohol presence is light and there are no off characters. 3.5
(Overall) A tasty, but unexceptional beer by Prairie, not quite up to "milk stout" guidelines, with a lighter than expected body, less sweetness than roast characters and not much of a notable impact from the chocolate aging. Comes off as more of a porter than a milk stout, in body and flavor profile. 3.5
