Notes/Commercial Description:
Prairie Standard is our everyday beer. Its a light, crisp saison with a hoppy finish. This beer is dry hopped 1lb per bbl with Motueka hops. A lovely New Zealand hop with a spicy lime like flavor and aroma.

Recently picked up on a trip south.

A - straw colored, tight bubbles, nice thick pillowly and white head and settles to a nice lacing

S - grassy hops, a little honey, freshly cracked pepper

T - similar to the noise though the grassy hops turned almost lime-like which was a bit unusual and also a little spice to hop, lightly toasted sweetness, a little apple, a little bit of funk, little bit of rosewater

M - nice carbonation, little bubbles, easy to drink

O - good saison with the unique and subtle flavor of lime and cracked pepper

12oz bottle from LambicPentameter (thanks Sam!). If there's a bottling date I was unable to locate it. Served in a Clown Shoes snifter.

Pours a cloudy, opaque orange straw color with a robust finger and a half of white head. The foam recedes to a modest cap that leaves a good bit of lace.

Smells of old hay, straw, some earthy and floral hops, a touch of lime and quite a bit of that typical farmhouse yeastyness that I associate with saisons.

Flavor is crisp and dry. Lots of hay/straw up front, earth, pepper, clove, lightly citrusy lime, bread, yeast, corn and a little funk. Well layered and interestingly refreshing.

Light, crisp body with peppy carbonation. Farmhouse funk, hay and thise weird limey hops are present in the rather clean finish.

I'll admit up front that I'm not a huge fan of saisons but this was quite drinkable. It never went over the top in any direction. A crisp, smooth easy daily drinker- for folks that look for such things...

12oz bottle into snifter.

A: Pours clear yellow straw with a thick whipped egg-white head that slowly faded into a thin fuzzy film.
S: I get notes of fruit forward yeast with hints of banana, citrus and peach. Grassy hops with citrus rind and peppery earth come through as well as faint lemon.
T: Earth, straw, and peppery herbal hops hit first with sweeter fruit notes of banana, stone fruits and mild citrus juice following. Earthy, spicy and fruity overall. Tingly sweet finish and juicy, slightly bitter, aftertaste.
M: Fluffy carbonation, medium full body, viscous slick and chewy mouthfeel.
O: Really solid smooth and flavorful all around. Cheers.

Thanks to Sammy for this bottle.

Beer is cloudy orange with a big, fluffy white head. Good retention and lacing.

Nose is lovely, super juicy and fruity. Peach comes screaming out, with other tropical and citrus scents. I don't get much in the way of yeast or other typical saison aromas, but very nice.

The yeast and dryness is there in the taste, making it more recognizable as a saison than the aroma let on. The fruit is still there and still good, but the yeast is present in equal measure. A bit spicy. Hops give some bitterness along with fruit.

Medium bodied, moderately carbonated. A bit astringent.

Overall, very good.
