Notes/Commercial Description:
Prairie Hop is our hop driven saison. This beer is packed with Simcoe and Citra hops. Notes of peach, mango, and tangerine can be found in the flavor and aroma of this beer. The beer finishes dry which helps the hops jump out of the glass flavor wise.

750 ml bottle corked and caged poured into a 3 Floyds wine glass

A- Allot of carbonation, 3 finger head dissipated quickly, to thin bubbly ring around the glass. The color is a beautiful burnt orange/brown, slight haziness.
S- The aroma is very nice, big hops upfront, nice sweetness comes out in the aroma, must be the citra hops. Mango, grapefruit, pine, grapefruit, some malt in the backend.
T- Taste is very similar to the nose, less sweet than i anticipated, the hops are present, slight bitterness but is mellowed out by the malt backbone, grassy notes, pine, grapefruit, slight peppery notes.
M- Light mouthfeel, very easy drinkability, dry on the finish.
O- Very nice, not sure what i was expecting, i was not expecting it to be so hop forward, i very much enjoyed this one, would of preferred to share with someone, not a beer i would typically drink on my own. Very satisfied with my first Prairie beer.

perfectly stated packaging, opens to reveal a most excellent aroma. It pours with a rich golden straw color, crowned by dense pale head that slowly reduces to a thin ever present visually pleasing icing for this wonderful slice of rich cake. The taste is incredible, it as if someone has taken my favorite IPA and Blended it with the best of Belgian saisons. this beer left me satisfied yet wanting another like a a drug addict needing another fix.

This seemed to be a nice hybrid between an IPA and a Saison.

In a snifter the beer was a clear gold color with a very thin tan head.

Interesting aroma. Citrus, sweet malt like an IPA. Earthy hops and spice like a saison.

Lemon, orange, pineapple taste. Earthy hops. Spice.

Wow! Really tasty. Soft in the mouth.

Pours a hazy, vibrant orange with thin white head that slowly dissipates leaving little trace. Wonderful aroma of peaches, pineapple, mango, grass and flowers. Flavors of stone fruit, citrus and a touch of yeast. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation. Crisp, clean finish. Complex beer with many layers. So far I'm a fan of Prairie Artisan Ales.

Deep gol in color with a slight haziness in the body. Vibrant carbonation bubbles are plentiful. There's a half inch of eggshell colored minuscule sized carbonation bubbles. Aroma is comprised of sourdough bread, tropical hops and grassy saison yeast. I taste a blend of sourdough bread, tropical hops and earthy saison yeas. The tropical hops really give it a unique twist. APA meets saison. There's plenty of carbonation and the mouth is crisp and refreshing.

Bottle (2013)

Thanks, baconsausage!

Hazed golden with a pillowing, persistent, near-white head of big bubbles. Decent, streaked lacing left down the glass. Very pretty saison.

Bright aroma of tropical fruits, floral notes, and mango. As the beer comes up to temperature, some of the fruit aromas fade away into more traditional farmhouse dried grass and barnyard notes. There's some mild Belgian yeast tang to this one as well, along with more classic grass and lemon notes. All things considered, I am more than impressed with this one.

As with the aroma, the citrus and tropical fruit flavors pop at the cooler temperatures. As the beer warms, American farmhouse funk, barnyard, dried grass, lemon notes, and a tiny bit of pepper emerge and combine nicely to make this an exceptionally drinkable saison. Somewhat bitter on the front of the palate, but the middle and finish are fantastic. Decidedly hoppy, yet extremely drinkable and well balanced.

Medium bodied with moderate to near full carbonation.

Very impressed so far with Prairie, and this is no exception.
