Notes/Commercial Description:
Prairie Hop is our hop driven saison. This beer is packed with Simcoe and Citra hops. Notes of peach, mango, and tangerine can be found in the flavor and aroma of this beer. The beer finishes dry which helps the hops jump out of the glass flavor wise.

A: poured into a Duvel tulip to a bright and cloudy yellow with a two finger dense white head that retains very well and leaves decent lacing
S: smells of fresh juicy hops, tropical fruits, and citrus
T: taste is tropical fruits, citrus, a little bit of spicy yeast, and some dry cracker like malt swallow brings more citrus and tropical fruits.
M: fairly light on the palate with slightly prickly carbonation and a refreshing oily hop finish
O: A delicious and heavily hopped saison. the saison characteristics are hidden behind the heavy handed hop notes but they do sometimes make an appearance.

500 ml bottle. Served in a Prairie Teku, the beer pours a hazy gold color with an inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both very good. The brew smells like straw, grassy and citrusy hops, yeast, mango, citrus peel, and earthiness. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some peppery spice, tropical fruit, grainy malt and a bit of peach noticeable. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's well carbonated and goes down pretty easy. I think it's a good hoppy saison, another quality Prairie brew! It's pricey at $10.99 a bottle, but it's a tasty brew! Definitely worth trying.

500mL into a tulip. Pours a hazy pale straw w/ a fluffy white head, good retention.

Aroma is slightly funky Belgian yeast and nice aromatic, citrusy hops.

Taste is likewise a blend of Belgian funk and citrusy hops. Juicy but dry. Grassy. Everything really works nicely.

Mouthfeel is balanced and satisfying. Medium body, great carbonation. Nice gently bitter finish.

Overall an outstanding, well-crafted beer. Reminds me of some of my favorite dry-hopped saisons from the likes of Logsdon and Upright.

How does this have a 94?! Taste is earthy with that typical belgian flavor, but a very thin mouthfeel & the hop taste is weak is totally forgettable. This is my least favorite Prairie offering to date.
