(Served in a tulip glass)
A- This beer pours a dense opaque deep brown body with a thick cream of light tan that last a good bit.

S- The rich wet oak and paper straws aroma has some nice bourbon notes in the finish. There is a hint of permanent marker that leads to some toffee notes as it opens.

T- The well-blended bourbon and oak flavor leads to a dark sweet malt finish and an alcohol spice to it. Some chocolate earthy malt flavor grows as it opens.

M- The medium-light mouthfeel has a nice alcohol warmth in the finish.

O- This is a big beer but well blended and cut with some nice alcohol makes this a great sipper. It would be nice to have a bit more malt forward but it is still very tasty.

Bomber shared two ways. Received in trade thanks to Newkidroundhere.

Pours deep murky brown, light khaki head. Head recedes quickly. Not much of a looker.

Aroma is absolutely killer though. Really heavy freshly cut oak and whiskey. Smells literally like the inside of a used whiskey barrel. Some sweetness from the malts comes through, but the aroma is all barrel here, and a unique barrel at that.

For an imperial brown ale aged in whiskey barrels, this is right on point. Couldn't ask for a better representation. Barrel character is ridiculous, fresh oak, vanilla, cellar must, faint sweet chocolate malt, touch caramel. Really well done, and very well rounded beer.

Carbonation is good, a touch on the high side, but I think it moves the beer along. This is a fantastic barrel aged beer. Prairie is for real, they know what they're doing. Standard lineup, check. Funky brews, check. Barrel aging, check. Keep an eye out for these folks.

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Deep brow with reddish flecks. Nice khaki head. I expected lifelessness. Retains well and even some clings inside the glass.

Smell - Very fruity. Dark fruits and whiskey. Oak. Caramel. Booze.

Taste - Strong apples and whiskey. Nice combination. Oaky. Caramel behind it all. Boozy finish.

Mouthfeel - Well carbonated, especially for its size. Boozy as hell and kinda harsh. Dry.

Overall - Good flavors, but it's really boozy. Not what I expected at all.

Pours brown/chestnut with a finger of tan head. Decent lacing & average head retention

S: Rich cakeyness, pralines& bourbon notes

T: Much cakeyness, a touch of brown sugar & bourbon up front. Dryness, more brown sugar, & toffee, along with boozey warmth. Finishes dry, cakey & with nice bourbon notes

MF: Chewy, subtle carbonation, nice warming sensation

Very tasty, the heft does get to you rather quickly. I preferred this on draft vice the bottle I tried months ago. If I ever see any more bottles I will scoop em up. They will age nicely I'm sure
