First of 6 bottles purchased. Poured into a St. Bernardus Waton glass.
Appearance: Pitch black motor oil with a thin mocha head that dosnt stay for long (unsurprisingly at 14% abv).
Smell: Man this smells incredible. Roasted coffee, vanilla, hints of chocolate, and a little twinge of spice.
Taste: Dark roasted coffee and vanilla upfront. The chocolate comes in strong in the middle and the spice from the chili peppers dosnt make its appearance until the very back of the tongue on the swallow. You actually get the feeling in your throat as if you just ate a jalepeno.
Mouthfeel: Thick and creamy. Perfect for this style and perfect for the flavor profile. The spicy, tingly feeling in the throat is also extremely enjoyable (i love spicy).
Overall: There is quite a bit of hype surrounding this beer even though it was released for the first time so recently and is already out in most places. And every bit of that hype is warrented. One of my absolute favorites to date (thank God I have 5 more!)
